The Boys star & creator react to images of Trump supporters dressed up as Homelander. The Amazon Prime original hit series recently ended its second season and has already been renewed for another round of episodes. Homelander remains the big bad of the series and will likely be even worse in The Boys Season 3.

Homelander is like the psychopathic evil child of Superman and Captain America. Outwardly he appears to be a Captain America-esque hero, beloved by the general public as the leader of the Seven. In reality, Homelander is a racist, misogynistic, selfish, and sadistic supe who completely lacks moral ethics. Homelander's relationship with the Nazi supe Stormfront in Season 2 solidified Homelander as a bonafide white supremacist.

The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke was understandably perplexed by a photo of a Trump supporter wearing a Homelander costume at a pro-Trump Million MAGA march. Kripke posted a picture of the Homelander-costumed Trump supporter next to another person dressed up as Joe Biden in a prison uniform. Check out the photo, Kripke's question regarding said image, and Homelander star Antony Starr's response below.

Although the Homelander costume may have likely been (as Kripke notes), a result of the Trump supporter not watching the show, Homelander is definitely not a man to emulate for supporters trying to champion their political candidate or president. (On the opposite note, Starr applauded a real-life hero dressed as Homelander because saving someone from a burning building truly transcends the messy conflicts of the political arena.) Overall, a general rule of thumb for supporters of any political figure should be to simply stay away from anything Homelander related, as it will ironically result in the opposite effect that they initially intended. Unless, of course, the desired outcome was to equate President Trump with the racist, misogynistic, narcissistic villian.

Homelander's disgusting season two finale moment was a foreboding glimpse of what's to come for the rest of the characters in The Boys. Not only solidifying him as the main villain of the series but also condemning him as an irredeemable bad guy. Not exactly the type of person you would want to represent your country as its most powerful leader. Hopefully, some of these misguided Trump supporters can find the time to catch up on the series now that the election is over.
