Spoilers for The Boys comic book and television series below

When questions about The Seven's income source were asked, Homelander made it crystal clear in The Boys that if anyone ever messed with their money again and broke his biggest rule, bad things would happen. In a tense post-meeting moment between Homelander and A-Train, the powerful leader of The Seven scared the speedster after he began cracking jokes and showed he wasn't serious about money.

The Seven are The Boys' answer to the Justice League, but the corporately funded and created heroes have a hierarchy based on their powers and how much they are paid. Homelander, Queen Maeve, and Black Noir are considered The Seven's most important heroes, as they earn a full percent each from Vought-American's profiting off of them. However, when A-Train cracked inappropriate jokes during the conversation and meetings, Homelander made sure to let the Supe know that he couldn't break their big rule and mess with his money.

In comparison, the big three earn a full one percent. Homelander tells the team they should have read their contracts better. Afterward, he runs into A-Train, who he calls out for making slurping noises during the meeting. Homelander The Seven Big Rule - The Boys

Homelander sends a clear message that acting like a fool and child during official business of The Seven will get A-Train kicked off the team or, worse, killed. In The Boys comics, Homelander's primary motivation outside of being beloved is being profitable, as he deeply cares about earning his worth. With A-Train goofing around and making inappropriate gestures during an official meeting of The Seven, Homelander was disgusted and wanted to ensure the newer member wouldn't break his biggest rule. It's safe to say the message was received.

Getting on Homelander's bad side is a horrible idea, as the powerful Supe has gone out of his way to kill those who stood against him. In this case, A-Train's idiocy nearly cost him a spot on The Seven and his life. When it comes to money, breaking Homelander's biggest rule in The Boys and threatening his earnings is a great way to earn a one-way ticket to being brutally murdered. Thankfully for A-Train, he caught Homelander on a 'good' day and survived the incident.
