Warning! Spoilers for The Boys comic book and television series below

In The Boys comic book series, Homelander has never been shy about using his powers to take down Supes who defied his rule; however, he also secretly killed rogue heroes who went against the ideals of Vought-American. As The Legend once explained, he was forced to come up with comic stories to explain why Homelander was used as a weapon to take down "dumb" Supes who didn't abide by Vought's rule.

Homelander is the greatest hero in the eye of the public in The Boys universe, as Vought-American's propaganda machine made him seem infallible. But, in reality, he was a killer who often used his powers to get what he wanted. Homelander murdered several of his fellow Supes, most notably Queen Maeve, who he took down after she defended Starlight. But, Homelander had a secret mission that the public didn't know about, as the Legend was forced to cover for the hero as he murdered Supes who didn't follow the rules.

In The Boys #20 by Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Simon Bowland, and Tony Avina, The Legend, the man who wrote the comic book stories that gave the general public false images of real Supes, reveals to Hughie that he's had to cover for Homelander's murders on multiple occasions. The Stan Lee parody shares that Vought-American secretly used Homelander to kill rouges Supes who didn't strictly follow their rules and "didn't see what a sweet thing that had goin." As a result, The Legend had to shape the real-life deaths into something more positive

The Boys Homelander Kills Supes - The Boys

The Legend shares how he watered down Homelander's horrific kills in The Boys universe, as the following page in the issue shows him battling a samurai Supe. While the comic book version the writer created shows Homelander's fight as relatively tame, in reality, he brutally murders his opponent, ripping his head off his body while saying some extremely racist remarks. The incident is just the tip of the iceberg of Homelander killing Supes, as he secretly killed those who strayed away from Vought-American's strict protocols and rules.

Homelander is, without a doubt, a complete and total monster, and his actions with his incredible powers certainly reflect that. Vought-American using him as their secret Supe killer to take down those who fell out of line shows how Homelander was nothing but a weapon for the organization. It forced The Legend to rewrite real history to portray him differently in the comics as the leader of The Seven murdered whoever stood in his way or didn't play by the same rules he often ignored himself. In the end, Homelander was the ultimate Supe killer in The Boys.
