Karl Urban shares some crossover fan art that places The Boys' Billy Butcher into John Carpenter's 1980s cult classic Big Trouble in Little China. Urban is perfectly cast in the role of Butcher, with the New Zealander clearly relishing portraying the foul-mouthed anti-hero across season 1 and 2 of Amazon Prime's smash hit show. The Boys is a loose adaptation of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's comic book of the same name, which revels in getting bloody, dirty and just plain gross at times, including using characters like The Love Sausage.

Urban starred in major franchises like The Lord of The Rings, the MCU (Thor: Ragnarok), and Star Trek before signing on to The Boys as the riotous lead of the show, Butcher. He's a character driven by his desire to destroy superheroes using any means possible, and hurling as many swear words around as he can at the same time. The Boys is executive produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, and has already been renewed for season 3, along with a spin-off show which focuses on a high school that is an X-Men parody.

Now Urban has shared a perfect piece of crossover art by an Instagram meme account, that puts characters from The Boys into the poster for John Carpenter's cult 1986 martial arts action-comedy Big Trouble in Little China. Urban's Butcher replaces Kurt Russell as Jack Barton, while Kim Cattrall is replaced on the new poster by Butcher's wife, Becca (Shantel VanSanten). Homelander (Antony Starr) and Stormfront (Aya Cash) also appear as the villains. The title of the movie is changed to Big Trouble in Little Vought, referencing the evil corporation that controls The Seven in The Boys and the Vought skyscraper has been photoshopped into the background of the poster. Besides just being a pure awesome piece of fan art, the casting, too, is perfect. Urban's Butcher has the same anarchic attitude as Russell's Barton in Big Trouble in Little China, and if Urban were to be cast in a remake, he'd be excellent in the role. He has the same swagger and attitude of 1980s Russell, and would certainly be able to up the foul-mouthed ante in a gritty reboot of the cult classic. The last that was heard of a remake, though, was that Dwayne Johnson would be starring.

Regardless, the fan art also makes it clear that Russell would have been perfect for the role of Butcher in The Boys if it had been made in the 1980s. Sure, he would have had to be changed to American, given that Russell isn't exactly known for his ability to mimic foreign accents, but that would be a small change. It's a reverse fantasy casting that would probably make the alternate universe version of The Boys just a little more awesome.
