A unifying aspect of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's community is their love for the game's main characters, and one committed player has managed to bring all the Champion's successors – Sidon, Riju, Yunobo, and Teba – together for a chance meeting. The journey to get the characters in one place was less than serendipitous, though. In truth, the party of protectors gathering in Gerudo Desert was thanks to the relentless tenacity of one dedicated Breath of the Wild player, who went through the painstaking effort of guiding each of those characters across Hyrule and manually arranging them in-game.

Breath of the Wild's plot is bisected between two eras: in its present story, the kin of past Champions struggle to take up their relatives' fallen mantles in a world sundered by Calamity Ganon. The successors share similar struggles in each being troubled by the loss of their forebears, and it's the job of hero Link to reunite them with their destiny of vanquishing Ganon. Interestingly, the successors themselves are never united in the same place in the game's story.

Teh_Cactus_Plant posted a satisfying screenshot to Reddit to unwrite the characters' disconnect in canon. The four successors, from Hyrule's four corners, are assembled in the Gerudo Desert for a celebratory photoshoot. Humongous Sidon stands awkwardly in front of Patricia the Sand Seal, and Yunobo cowers behind the imposing frame of Tabantha's Teba. Riju peeks out of the middle of the crowd donning the legendary Thunder Helm. As a curious addition, a Cucco also joins the snapshot near the bottom of the frame.

Teh_Cactus_Plant included a video explaining how the union of Breath of the Wild's protectors was made in the post's comments. The process wasn't as simple as relocating all four of the characters at once. Each had different conditions under which they could be moved across the map, and going through the trouble to transport the characters individually was even more complicated. Once unlocked from their normal positions in the game, Yunobo only slowly follows behind Link as he walks, Teba won't move at all unless pushed, Sidon teleports between water sources, and Riju can't be manipulated at all. The final arrangement required multiple attempts. At some points, Teh_Cactus_Plant's progress dragging the characters to the desert was lost entirely. They had to restart their journey from the beginning.

When considering that the characters were never intended to occupy the same area in Breath of the Wild's present, the finalized get-together is indicative of a monumental challenge. Teh_Cactus_Plant making multiple treks across Hyrule to manifest the image makes finally seeing the Champions' successors accompanying one another all the more relieving.

Surprisingly, a sweet moment like seeing iconic Breath of the Wild characters together isn't normally possible without exhaustive extra work in the game. Its fledgling present heroes encounter enough trails along Link's journey to defeat Ganon, and they deserve a casual meetup as a break. Sidon, Riju, Yunobo, and Teba may still get more dynamic character development in the future if they remain major characters during the plot of Breath of the Wild's upcoming sequel.
