The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s open-world map of Hyrule is endlessly explorable, and Link is rewarded often for his thorough adventuring by Koroks. These hide-and-seek masters are scattered throughout BOTW’s map and will give Link a seed when they are found. With 900 Korok seeds to find, it is easy to miss a few even in multiple playthroughs.
Also known as Forest Spirits, Koroks evolved from the Kokiri species in order to survive the Great Flood of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. In BOTW, the Koroks cannot be seen by most people other than Link. This paired with the fact that Koroks seem to far outnumber other species in BOTW’s Hyrule makes Link’s quest to find them all an extensive one.
Link can find most of the Koroks by solving small puzzles or performing specific actions such as archery challenges, completing patterns with certain objects, or finishing timed races. Although most of these are fairly straightforward, not all Koroks follow these patterns. There are a few Korok seeds in BOTW that are particularly hard for Link to find and obtain.
The BOTW Korok Hiding Under A Bridge Is Easy To Miss
There are several Koroks hidden near the Bridge of Hylia in Lake Hylia. However, there is one that is harder to find than the rest. In fact, this may be one of the most well-hidden Koroks in all of BOTW. To find this Korok, Link will need to climb or glide underneath the bridge to a narrow ledge. There will be a single Tree Branch that he can take. Once he gathers it, the Korok will be revealed. This Korok isn't just hard to find because of its location: By the time Link leaves the Great Plateau, he has access to far better weapons than a Tree Branch, which makes it undesirable to go after it, even if it's spotted. Additionally, this is an incredibly uncommon item for Koroks to hide beneath, making it pretty inconspicuous.
A Korok Is Hiding With The Heroines In BOTW
In the East Gerudo Ruins of BOTW, Link will find statues of the Seven Heroines. There is a Shrine Quest to complete and two Korok seeds to find in this area. The first Korok is fairly easy to find; it is just under a rock on top of one of the statues. However, the second Korok is much more easily missed. Between the extended wrists of the northeastern statue is a balloon that Link must shoot with an arrow to reveal the Korok. Unlike most archery puzzles, this one only has one balloon and it is stationary. Due to these factors, the Korok balloon can only be spotted from very specific angles, which Link can miss while solving the other puzzles.
BOTW Has A Korok Hiding In The Trees That's Hard To Find
Lurelin Village’s residents live in houseboats, and many of these houses have palm trees growing on top of them. On one house’s palm tree, Link will find 3 palm fruits and 1 apple. Although it is not uncommon to find palm fruits growing in BOTW’s palms, an apple growing from one is definitely suspicious. If Link uses an arrow to knock the apple down, a Korok will reward him with a seed. Koroks are not usually found hiding behind fruit and unless Link is examining every single tree closely, he is likely to overlook this particular Korok.
BOTW Has A Korok Hiding In Plain Sight
In the Rowan Plain near Serenne Stable, Link will discover ruins a little ways off of the path. Old building ruins are found throughout BOTW’s Hyrule, but a unique Korok is located here. There are three wooden fences lined up near the ruins. This immediately looks out of place. However, it takes creative thinking to solve this puzzle. Link must ride a horse and jump over all of the fences to reveal the Korok.
Alternatively, he can also use the Master Cycle Zero’s Zero Jump to complete this task. Many players do not regularly use horses in BOTW and there are only a couple of puzzles that use them in the game, making this Korok well-hidden from Link. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s development team creatively hid 900 Korok seeds throughout its map, and it is an example of just how many secrets there are in the game.
