Bosun Storm Smith stole the show during his appearance on Below Deck Mediterranean season 7, and it’s time to give an update on the cast member. Although season 7's finale aired over a year ago, it wasn't well-received. Despite adding new cast members, Below Deck Med season 7 underperformed due to personality differences and the lack of chemistry showcased by the cast. However, despite the criticism about casting, bosun Storm's appearance in the series was one of the few positives.
While Storm joined the Below Deck Med season 7 team as a deckhand, he quickly got promoted to a bosun after Captain Sandy fired the second-ever female bosun, Raygan Tyler, for being unprofessional. Besides Storm’s impressive work ethic and leadership qualities, his romantic relationship with Below Deck Med stew Natalya Schudder also provided a lot of talking points for viewers. Storm also became the center of controversy after he promoted deckhand Courtney Veale to lead deckhand over his close friend Mzi Dempers. However, his exploits during the season made him one of the most compelling characters, and there's curiosity regarding what he's been up to since season 7.
Bosun Storm Returned For The Below Deck Med Season 7 Reunion
Unlike previous seasons, Bravo did not promote the Below Deck Med season 7 reunion show, and there was speculation it might not air. However, season 7's cast members, including Storm, assembled for a reunion on November 22, 2022, which Andy Cohen hosted. At the event, stew Natalya, Storm’s romantic interest during the season, revealed the couple was no longer together, according to Bravo's The Daily Dish.
Natalya explained moving back to Australia while Storm headed back to South Africa, which ended any hopes of a relationship. However, she clarified he provided her comfort during the season. Meanwhile, Storm also reaffirmed her statement, noting Natalya provided him an escape from the difficulties and anxiety throughout the season.
Storm Found Love Again After Natalya Heartbreak
After Storm’s tumultuous relationship with Natalya ended, the Below Deck Med star began dating Chloe Griffin. The lovebirds enjoyed spending time together and visited the Bainskloof Mountain Pass and Rhino Ridge Game Reserve in South Africa. According to Storm’s Instagram, the two have also visited Italy, Spain, and Iceland. Neither has revealed if they're still together, but regardless, Storm is still enjoying traveling the world. While bosun Storm appears to enjoy his time away from reality TV, there's hope he might appear on Below Deck Mediterranean again.
