The trailer for Bosch season 7 reveals the Amazon Prime show's final eight episodes will release in June. A police procedural, Bosch stars Titus Welliver as the title detective. It also focuses on his colleagues at the LAPD, as well as his relationship with his daughter, Maddie (Madison Lintz). Bosch released its first episode in 2014 and was one of Amazon Prime Video's very first original series. Season 1 wasn't available as a whole until a year later, as viewers were given the option to vote on whether more episodes should be made, in a rather unconventional pilot process.

Luckily, Bosch resonated with audiences and has continued on for six successful seasons. In February 2020, Amazon renewed it for a seventh and final season. However, a spinoff series is on the way with the original Bosch cast. Instead of releasing on Amazon Prime Video, it will debut on a different streaming service also owned by Amazon, IMDb TV. Set to begin production later in 2021, the spinoff series will focus on Bosch's life after retiring from the LAPD. He'll work as an investigator for Honey “Money” Chandler (Mimi Rogers), continuing their relationship from the original show. Lintz is also set to reprise her role in the follow up series.

Before the spinoff arrives, there are still eight episodes of Bosch season 7 to enjoy. Amazon Prime Video has released a trailer for the new season that reveals it will release in its entirety on Friday, June 25. Check it out below, along with some new images and season 7's official synopsis:

Based on Michael Connelly’s best-selling novel The Burning Room (2014) and the real arson case that inspired it, the seventh and final season of Prime Video’s Bosch puts Detective Harry Bosch’s famous motto center stage: “Everybody counts or nobody counts.” When a ten-year-old girl dies in an arson fire, Detective Harry Bosch risks everything to bring her killer to justice despite opposition from powerful forces. The highly charged, politically sensitive case forces Bosch to face a grueling dilemma of how far he is willing to go to achieve justice.

Though the teaser doesn't give away too much about season 7, it does hint at the spinoff with Bosch's comment "This isn't over." The synopsis gives a better idea of what to expect, as it seems an arson case will be the focus of the final season. It also suggests Bosch is going all out for its last run of episodes, with the title character pushing the limits like never before. Luckily, the late June release date means viewers don't have to wait too long for season 7 and will soon find out what exactly is in store for Bosch in the final episodes.

The show's farewell season is quite unique in that audiences already know they aren't saying goodbye to the characters forever. This could make for an especially solid last season, as there isn't as much pressure on the cast and creative team to wrap up every single storyline. As of now, it certainly seems like the Bosch spinoff will be a continuation of the series, essentially functioning as season 8. However, viewers will find out for sure whenever it ends up debuting on IMDb TV.
