Warning: contains spoilers for Chapter 68 of Boruto

The most recent chapter of Boruto ends on a cliffhanger that comes incredibly close to confirming a new theory about one of the series' main villains. Although it is a small detail in the mountain of evidence supporting the theory, it might just be the final hint before the reveal in the next chapter.

The main antagonists of Boruto are the organization Kara, a group of cyborgs with incredible powers that are helping the extraterrestrial Otsutsuki clan cultivate a new chakra fruit-bearing God Tree. After Isshiki Otsutsuki was defeated and the villain Code replaced him as Kara's leader, Code sought out the aid of another Kara member, Eida. Fans believe that she is the daughter of the scientist Amado, and the final page of Boruto Chapter 68 has the two characters meet for the first time in panel.

One of the abilities that Eida possesses is being able to charm anybody in her presence, save for blood relatives and Otsutsuki. The chapter's final shot shows Amado stuttered and shocked at Eida's sudden appearance, rather than giving her the lustful gaze she usually receives from others. This heavily indicates that he is her blood relative and given Amado's earlier admission that he had a daughter who died 12 years ago, it's almost certain that he is her father.

This Eida and Amado theory is supported by a ton of other evidence. The admission mentioned above would not have been brought up if it was not important to the overall plot. Eida's first conversation with Code also shows that she has a hatred and bitterness towards Amado, and it's likely that this comes from Amado turning her into one of Kara's cyborgs, and then leaving her for dead. Or so she thinks. Since Isshiki ordered her to be destroyed, but Eida used her powers to convince the executioner to leave her alive, there is a chance that Amado truly believed she was dead and therefore left her.

This fan theory has been a contentious topic for fans ever since Eida's reveal in Chapter 57, the same chapter that Amado first mentions his daughter. Eida's appearance at the end of Chapter 68 leaves Amado shell-shocked, the final piece of evidence before confirming or denying their relationship. The truth of it all, and the details of their past will certainly be revealed when Boruto Chapter 69 drops next month.
