Warning: SPOILERS for Black Clover chapter 341 and Boruto chapter 73The Wizard King equivalent from Yami's home country in Black Clover possesses one of the same overpowered abilities of a complicated Boruto character. And how Black Clover's Ryu is using this power now will likely make critics of Boruto's Eida wish that the Naruto spin-off series did what Black Clover is doing now.
In Boruto, the villain-turned-quasi-hero Eida can cause anyone who sees her to fall in love with her or make it impossible for them to hurt her. But Eida also has an annoying clairvoyance ability that allows her to see everything that is happening in the present. Because Eida is attracted to Kawaki and is willing to live in Konoha in peace if she can connect with him, Kawaki and his fellow teammates in team 7 including Boruto have been tasked with living in the same place as her to keep her happy and under close watch. Critics and even fans of Boruto are generally unhappy with this turn of events since it's changing the series from an action manga to a romcom.
In Black Clover chapter 341 by Yūki Tabata, Yami's sister Ichika tells Asta that Ryu, the shogun of Hino Country, possesses Tengentsu, an ability that allows his right eye to see everything that's happening at any given moment. Even though he can't wield magic, his Tengentsu is the main reason why he's been able to unite Hino even though the country had been fragmented by warring factions.
Ryu is Everything Disgruntled Boruto Fans Want Eida to be
Although Ryu can't make anyone fall in love with him like Eida can, the two characters have unsettling clairvoyance that gives them the same means as the other. The fact that Eida's most recent utilization of her power involved spying on team 7 when they were discussing their cohabitation agreement and reacting in the most adorable way imaginable adds insult to injury for those who are not a fan of Boruto's current direction. Even though some of Naruto's best moments involved the eponymous ninja's romantic interactions with Hinata, critics are unhappy that a majority of the following chapters will revolve heavily around Eida living together with her love interest Kawaki and Boruto rather than just being a side story. Meanwhile, Black Clover's Ryu has yet to use his Tengentsu for anything involving romance. In fact, his ability was used to solve an ongoing crisis that future chapters will likely explore in an epic flashback. It's also implied that what Ryu helped fix was in response to a possible crime that Yami may have committed, which casts doubt on Yami's story about how he got caught in a storm during a fishing exhibition that shipwrecked him on the shores of the Clover Kingdom.
Undoubtedly, how Ryu uses his clairvoyance in Black Clover will appeal with frustrated Boruto fans and make them wish that Eida only had Ryu's power and not her additional ability where she can make anyone fall in love with her. It doesn't help how Eida last used her clairvoyance especially since it allowed her to get all flustered knowing that she would be living in the same building with her beloved Kawaki in Boruto when Black Clover's Ryu helped unite a warring nation with his.
