The best Borderlands 2 DLC is getting the treatment it deserves, as a collaboration between Nerdvana Games, Leder Games, and Gearbox Entertainment sees the announcement of Bunkers & Badasses, a Dungeons & Dragons inspired tabletop game based on the Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep expansion content. Dungeons & Dragons is experiencing a major upswing in popularity as it continues to become more widespread among content creators and big steaming events, and other tabletop properties are beginning to garner interest from fans introduced to the genre through its most popular representative.

For those unfamiliar with the best Borderlands DLC, Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep puts Vault Hunters in the world of Bunkers & Badasses, Pandora's Dungeons & Dragons equivalent. Tiny Tina is the "Bunker Master" and creates her own campaign, which is narrated by the popular character and becomes increasingly unhinged and difficult as she struggles to come to grips with the loss of Roland, the Vault Hunter who perishes over the course of the base game's narrative. Equal parts hilarious and heart-wrenching, Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep is a genuinely compelling bit of character building baked into a unique spin on the Dungeons & Dragons formula that resonated with fans of both properties.

It may have been a long time coming, but the best Borderlands 2 DLC is finally getting its due with a full-on tabletop game based on its Dungeons & Dragons alternative. Nerdvana Games, Leder Games, and Gearbox Entertainment announced that Bunkers & Badasses is available for pre-order, and is a fully-fledged tabletop experience based on the game Borderlands 2 showcased in the Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep DLC. The tabletop experience will allow fans to create their own Borderlands Vault Hunter and navigate through Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep, complete with notes from Tiny Tina as well.

Bunkers & Badasses will also include more campaigns: Butt Stallion's Hunny Heist, based around Handsome Jack's most popular pet, and The Merchant's Quest for the Wizard's Wand. Now that the best Borderlands 2 DLC is getting a physical extension of its Dungeons & Dragons alternative, fans can also shell out a bit more cash for some Borderlands tabletop accessories: the regular version of the game pre-orders for $59.99 USD, while a deluxe edition that features custom dice and figures goes for $119.99. Fans who pre-order the more expensive version before September 30, however, will get a $20 discount.

It might be a little strange that the best Borderlands 2 DLC is getting recognized as such with a tabletop game so long after its release, but better late than never for one of the best Borderlands characters around. There are plenty of people who felt Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep was an excellent tabletop spoof, and now they'll get a chance to play through their own version in the form of Bunkers & Badasses.
