One of the most exciting parts about Borderlands 3 was the prospect of using the Eridian Fabricator, better known as the Gun Gun. When first shown in the Borderlands 3 trailer, the Gun Gun has been a hot topic of conversation. It has a weird, quirky ability and players could not wait to get their hands on this hot item.

The Eridian Fabricator is a fun gun to play with, although it is perhaps not the most practical. The Gun Gun is used more for entertainment rather than merciless murder, but it's well worth a player's time to find. In a game where guns, guns, and guns are the most important part, this weapon really drives home the importance of a player's weaponry.

How to Find the Eridian Fabricator in Borderlands 3

Borderlands 3 Gun Gun unload

Getting the Eridian Fabricator is not tricky, but playing with it can be a task. However, using this weapon can be fun once players get the hang of it. The gun will appear as players progress through the main story mission. It's important to note that, from here on out, there will be spoilers.

Through natural story progression, players will eventually find themselves in the mission entitled ‘Footsteps of the Giants.’ This mission is located on a special planet at a certain point in the game, players will not be able to miss it. During this mission, players will encounter a traveler NPC that has the Eridian Fabricator. The NPC will offer to shoot the gun for the player in exchange for Eridium. Give the NPC Eridium and let him shoot his shot. After doing this, he will ask the player to accompany him on a mission.

The missions themselves consist of defending a few areas and gathering items. It’s not terribly difficult, and impossible to miss. The completion of this mission will have the traveler give the Gun Gun to players as a reward for fulfilling the mission. Overall, the traveler’s mission is fairly short and easy.

Side Notes on Borderlands 3's Gun Gun

Borderlands 3 Eridian Fabricator

The Gun Gun is famous in the Borderlands community because, instead of shooting weapons, the Gun Gun shoots other guns randomly. The rarity and strength of the guns shot out of the Eridian Fabricator is completely random. This gives players a chance to upgrade their weapons when necessary.

All of the guns that are shot from the Gun Gun are at least Uncommon in rarity. Gearbox has also noted that there is a chance of Legendary weapons to be shot out of the gun as well, although the odds of a Legendary gun seem fairly slim. Few players have had luck with receiving a Legendary weapon from the Gun Gun, which brings to question the chances of a Legendary gun appearing out of the Gun Gun. So it is a little bit disappointing that this awesome gun may not provide players with a Legendary weapon, but at least an Uncommon weapon may show up.

Another downside to this weapon is that, instead of ammo, this gun consumes Eridium to be powered. The Eridian Fabricator can use up to ten pieces of Eridium per shot, which seems excessive but the trade-off of new weapons makes it worth a players' time. So if players plan on using this weapon, be sure to stock up on Eridium.

Something worth noting about the Gun Gun is that it is impossible to remove from the players’ inventory. The Gun Gun is not capable of being stored into a player’s bank, which means players will have to carry it around. So it is important that players increase their inventory to ensure there is space for more weapons.
