A trailer for a behind-the-scenes Borat special includes some brand new, never-before-seen footage from Borat Subsequent MovieFilm. In typical title gore fashion that has come to be expected of Borat, the special will be titled Borat Supplemental Reportings Retrieved From Floor of Stable Containing Editing Machine. Just announced today, the special will air in multiple parts on Amazon Prime Video and feature behind-the-scenes footage and deleted scenes from the Oscar-nominated comedy starring Sacha Baron Cohen and Maria Bakalova.

Borat Subsequent MovieFilm, the long-awaited follow-up to Cohen’s hit mockumentary Borat in 2006, finally premiered in October 2020 to rave reviews. The 24-year-old Bulgarian actress Maria Bakalova was a highlight of the film, as she received significant praise for her performance as Borat’s 15-year-old daughter Tutar. Bakalova went on to receive an Oscar nod for what was her debut role. While the original Borat documented a fictitious Kazakhstani journalist's travels throughout the United States and his interactions with mostly everyday Americans, the sequel saw Borat and Tutar shift focus to prominent politicians like Donald Trump, Mike Pence, and Rudy Giuliani.

Now, after glowing reception from critics and audiences, multiple Golden Globe wins, and an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay, Amazon will be releasing a multi-part behind-the-scenes Borat special. According to the trailer, the special will include never-before-seen footage that "tells a new story." Watch the trailer for Borat Supplemental Reportings below:

A few of the new and extended scenes featured in the trailer include Tutar asking to look like R. Kelly while visiting a make-up salon, Borat living in quarantine with two QAnon conspiracy theorists during the coronavirus pandemic, and a conversation between Borat and Tutar’s babysitter Jeanise Jones. The trailer ends with the intense aftermath of Country Steve's performance at a right-wing rally in which an angry mob attempts to break into Cohen's getaway vehicle.

Cohen and crew likely shoot hours and hours of footage on the production of a Borat movie, with much of it being unusable. Therefore, it is no surprise there is enough unused footage to support a special. A few other deleted scenes from Borat 2 include Tutar sneaking into the White House and Judith Dim Evans’ heartfelt testimonial about her family’s experience with the Holocaust. There are also plenty of deleted scenes from the original movie floating around on YouTube, so this seems like a smart move by Amazon to make a polished production out of the sequel's unused footage with Borat Supplemental Reportings.
