Comic book giant BOOM! Studios just landed itself a TV deal with streaming giant Netflix. The animation studio previously had worked with 20th Century Fox after 20th Century made a non-controlling minority investment in it in 2017. With 20th Century's support, BOOM! was able to develop Goldie Vance produced by Kerry Washington and directed by Rashida Jones, as well as BolivarImagine Agents, and Ladycastle. However, when Disney bought 20th Century Fox and they decided to pull the plug on upcoming feature Mouse GuardTheir partnership will last until January 2021.

BOOM! Studios made the announcement this afternoon. Netflix agreed to a two-year TV deal with BOOM! for both live-action and animation series. BOOM! Studios CEO and Founder Ross Richie and President of Development Stephen Christy are set to executive produce all of the series that will premiere on Netflix. This isn't the first time that BOOM! and Netflix have worked together. The two partnered on upcoming feature film The Unsound based on a 2019 graphic novel. Richie is ecstatic to work with Netflix more closely now and believes there is something in it for both of them when it comes to this deal:

In addition to Netflix, BOOM! Studios has also created TV series for Amazon, HBO Max, Peacock, CBS All Access, and Disney+. The studio had a recent "boom" in 2019 after boosting new original series by 63%. While the studio's TV projects have been a success, the studio is best known for its comic books including Lumberjanes, Once & Future, Something Is Killing The Children, and Mouse Guard. With 20 upcoming projects, BOOM! Studios is giving comic book fans plenty to look forward to.
