A new trailer for The Book of Boba Fett sees Temuera Morrison's titular former bounty hunter not ready to trust anyone in the Star Wars series. The streaming project marks the first in a number of spin-offs to the hit Disney+ series The Mandalorian, with others including the Rosario Dawson-led Ahsoka, with which The Book of Boba Fett takes place alongside. Lucasfilm is also at work developing multiple shows originally a part of its anthology film plans, including the Ewan McGregor-starring Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Morrison returned to the live-action Star Wars universe with The Mandalorian season 2, in which Boba Fett was revealed to have survived the Sarlacc pit and team up with elite assassin Fennec Shand to retrieve his armor from the titular protagonist and later take over Jabba the Hutt's palace from Bib Fortuna. The Book of Boba Fett picks up shortly after the events of its predecessor as he and Fennec set off the take over the territory once controlled by Jabba and become the new crime lords of Tattooine, though will find it's not as easy as it appears. Morrison leads the cast of The Book of Boba Fett alongside Ming-Na Wen as Fennec and Jennifer Beals as an unnamed Twi'lek.

With just over a week remaining until its arrival, Disney+ has debuted a new The Book of Boba Fett trailer. The video sees the titular character embarking on his quest to become the new crime lord on Tattooine and his distrust of those he'll encounter in his and Fennec's journey. Given his and Fennec's efforts to take over Jabba's criminal empire on Tattooine in the series, it's understandable Boba Fett appears as untrustworthy in the new Book of Boba Fett trailer. Additionally, with Fennec herself having as much experience in the galactic criminal world as her former bounty hunting counterpart, he certainly has the best possible ally to sort out those that can be trusted to go with their rule and those they will have to put extra pressure on. Developer/executive producer Jon Favreau has teased that their journey to fill the power vacuum left by Jabba with his death in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi will not be an easy one.

The new Book of Boba Fett trailer also falls in line with Wen's teasing that the show will be akin to that of The Godfather in its approach to the organized crime and gangster genres in comparison to that of other Star Wars projects. The latest footage for the Star Wars series certainly displays plenty of tense meetings with a variety of shifty characters, which will require as much of a mental battle as physical one for Boba and Fennec. The wait for The Book of Boba Fett is nearly over as the series is set to begin streaming on Disney+ on December 29.
