The Book of Boba Fett official poster reveals new armor changes and brings back Jabba the Hutt's throne. After the fan-favorite bounty hunter made his live-action return in The Mandalorian season 2, it was revealed he would be the focus of his own spinoff show. The Book of Boba Fett was originally announced during The Mandalorian season 2 finale post-credits scene, expanding Lucasfilm's ever-growing slate of Star Wars TV shows.

Due to the bounty hunter's popularity, The Book of Boba Fett is one of the more anticipated Star Wars projects on the horizon. However, in typical Lucasfilm fashion, much has been unknown about the show. Even though it's set for a December premiere, several details are currently under wraps, but the studio is making plans to peel back the curtain. Boba will be featured heavily on Disney+ Day in November, but before that the marketing campaign is underway.

Disney released the first Book of Boba Fett poster, as part of an announcement containing the show's release date and synopsis. Take a look at it in the space below:

Star Wars The Book of Boba Fett

The imagery on the poster mimics the closing shot of the Mandalorian season 2 finale post-credits scene, with Boba sitting in Jabba the Hutt's throne, symbolizing his intentions to rule the Tatooine underworld. Obviously, the one-sheet doesn't reveal much in terms of plot details, but a takeaway is Boba's armor has been altered slightly. The belt is different than what was seen in The Mandalorian season 2, and there are some new scratches visible. It's fairly standard practice for big franchises to design different costumes and outfits for new installments, even if it's largely similar to what came before. It will be interesting to see what story reasons are given for any changes, as The Book of Boba Fett will surely be a big merchandising draw.

With The Book of Boba Fett release date, synopsis, and poster all revealed, it's evident Lucasfilm has kicked off the promotional campaign. The next three months should be filled with additional advertising materials, such as still images. There's no word yet on when the initial trailer will release. Disney+ Day seems like a safe bet, but with the studio opening the floodgates now, perhaps a first look will be released sooner than expected in order to generate even more excitement about what's to come. So far, the Disney+ Star Wars shows have been very successful, so the hope is The Book of Boba Fett can continue that hot streak and set the stage for Star Wars' exciting 2022.
