The Book of Boba Fett season 2 hasn't been discussed yet, according to star Temuera Morrison. The actor returned to the Star Wars galaxy to portray the fan-favorite bounty hunter in The Mandalorian season 2, playing a key supporting role. In the Mandalorian season 2 finale post-credits scene, it was revealed Morrison would headline his own spinoff show, The Book of Boba Fett. Set to premiere on Disney+ this December, the series also stars Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand.

Boba Fett has been one of the more popular Star Wars characters for decades, so it's logical to see him become the focus of a new TV series, especially as Lucasfilm increases their presence on Disney+. The studio has a number of shows in various stages of development, some of which could be green-lit for multiple seasons (including Andor). With Boba Fett back in the spotlight thanks to his Mandalorian guest role, some are wondering if The Book of Boba Fett will get additional seasons. Per the star, that's not in the cards yet.

Speaking with Express, Morrison was asked about The Book of Boba Fett's future. On the topic of a possible season 2, Morrison says he hasn't heard anything. Check out his comments in the space below:

"I think they'll have to consider some things... The tree is still growing. They'll probably want to test the waters first, there's been no talk about it."

Boba Fett and Fennec Shand in The Mandalorian Season 2 Finale

It's possible the Lucasfilm higher-ups have had conversations about The Book of Boba Fett season 2 that Morrison isn't privy to. Actors can be among the last to learn about projects they're involved with. Still, it sounds like even if the show will extend to multiple seasons, any continuation is in the earliest stages of development. That probably has less to do with The Book of Boba Fett's chances of being a success (it's all but guaranteed to be a hit) and more with the show's place in the larger Mandalorian story. The Book of Boba Fett has various connections to The Mandalorian, which is building up to a crossover event with other spinoffs. Lucasfilm may want to wait and see how the narrative unfolds before planning their next move.

Depending on what happens in The Book of Boba Fett, there's also a chance it's a limited series that doesn't get additional seasons. One of the benefits of the Disney+ platform is there isn't a sense of obligation for creatives to make sure their shows extend to multiple seasons. They can just focus on the story they want to tell and leave it be if they feel it's in a good place. That's the case with certain Marvel shows like WandaVision, so there isn't a guarantee every Star Wars series will go beyond season 1. Either way, Lucasfilm has plenty of Star Wars shows coming through the pipeline, so they're not wholly dependent on The Book of Boba Fett.
