Meet Daniel Craig on the Bond 25 set in a new Omaze contest. For fans of the James Bond franchise, the debate on the best actor to ever portray the ultra slick super spy remains a popular one. In fact, it’s hard to identify another franchise in which a comparably long-running and sometimes heated debate can be found.
There’s no doubt a great list of candidates for the coveted yet entirely subjective acknowledgement of best James Bond. And for those who would cast their vote for Daniel Craig, it’s been a challenging last few years. From threatening to never play Bond again and dealing with the stress of being the first 007 to take the character in a completely new direction, to injuring himself while filming the upcoming Bond 25, Craig fans have seen their hero undergo substantial struggles and plenty of criticism along the way. But for all those diehard Craig fans out there who would love the opportunity to tell the star that he’s the best Bond to ever don a tuxedo and order a martini, a new contest might just be a dream come true.
Arranged through the online non-profit support network Omaze, a new contest to help The Opportunity Network is now offering a chance for one lucky winner and a friend to be flown to London, where they’ll be put up in a four star hotel and meet Daniel Craig on the set of Bond 25. In addition to meeting Craig, the winner will also get a private tour of the Bond 25 set from the 007 star, as well as being shown other iconic Bond locations at the famed Pinewood Studios. All in all, it sounds like an absolutely amazing prize - one which is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. You can watch Craig announce the contest via the James Bond Twitter account below:
Daniel Craig has teamed up with @omaze to give you the chance to meet him and visit the #BOND25 set! Every donation supports @Opp_Net so ENTER today: https://t.co/gAJZRvHCYR #Omaze pic.twitter.com/oWDxZpOEW3— James Bond (@007) June 18, 2019
Proceeds from the contest will go to The Opportunity Network, which helps people from underrepresented and marginalized communities gain access to college, internships, and career opportunities, as well as personal and professional networks. The higher the donation, the more entries into the contest a person receives, however the contest can also be entered for free, without any requirement to donate (though the free link on the Omaze page can be tricky to locate as it’s tiny compared to the donate options). The deadline to enter is July 25, with the winner being announced on or around August 7. Because the production of Bond 25 is still in a highly confidential state, the winner and their guest will have to sign a non-disclosure agreement, meaning that what's seen and revealed on set must be kept private.
It’s good to see that Daniel Craig is back on his feet once again after his accident and subsequent surgery earlier this year. Whether or not he’s the best Bond ever remains a matter of opinion, but a contest such as this is an undoubtedly spectacular opportunity - especially since Bond 25 will likely mark the final outing for Craig as 007. It’s also an excellent chance to help a worthwhile cause - something that may not be as personally thrilling as meeting a celebrity hero, but something that’s rewarding all the same.
