BoJack Horseman Cast Guide: All The Celebrity Voices You'll Hear In Season 5

advertising

BoJack Horseman season 5 is finally on Netflix, bringing back the incredible voice cast (including several surprise returns), as well as some new characters and celebrity guests. The show has always stood apart for the range of talent it gets in every level of the series, and the new run is no different.

What is different in BoJack Horseman season 5 is the mental state of its main character. BoJack is the star of new streaming series Philbert, a hard-boiled detective show riffing on many a Peak TV critical darling (most pointedly True Detective), something that gives him a rare sense of stability. However, that only leads to introspection and the dark secrets of his past bubble up. This happens as Todd climbs the corporate ranks, Diane and Mr. Peanutbutter deal with separation while working on the same show, and Princess Carolyn juggles the professional and personal. It's a season about relationships and the lines between our different lives.

But, for all the existential fear, this is still a comedy. Yes, BoJack Horseman can be fun, especially when it's bringing out an exciting array of fresh and familiar voices. Here's everybody you'll meet in season 5.

BoJack Horseman Season 5's Main Voice Cast

Will Arnett as BoJack Horseman: The show's lead is, of course, voiced by Will Arnett (Arrested Development, Lego Batman), although this time is less obsessed with his Horsin' Around past and more his darker actions around that.

Aaron Paul as Todd Chavez: Master of the wacky-scheme, Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad, Need For Speed) voices Todd. Now living with Princess Carolyn, Todd's season 5 adventures involve asexuality and ad sales.

Rami Malek as Flip McVicker: Mr. Robot's Rami Malek becomes a regular on BoJack Horseman after a brief appearance last season. He plays Philbert writer Flip, sounding very different to how he will in November's Bohemian Rhapsody.

Hong Chau - Pickles: Pickles is the waitress at BoJack's restaurant and Mr. Peanutbutter's new girlfriend, voice by Hong Chau (best known for Inherent Vice and Downsizing).

BoJack Horseman Season 5's Returning Supporting Voice Cast

Aparna Nancherla as Hollyhock: BoJack's half-sister makes a short return, once again played by stand-up Aparna Nancherla.

Angela Bassett as Ana Spanikopita: BoJack's awards manager Ana is back briefly, seeing Angela Bassett return to the show after a summer of blockbusters (Black Panther and Mission: Impossible - Fallout).

Natalie Morales as Yolanda Buenaventura: Todd's asexual girlfriend accompanies him for some of the series, with Natalie Morales reprising her role.

Abbi Jacobson as Emily: Todd's ex, Emily, also has a role to play, voiced again by Broad City co-creator Abbi Jacobson.

Adam Conover as A Ryan Seacrest Type: Adam Conover typically ruins everything, but not BoJack! His Ryan Seacrest Type returns, albeit without that name acknowledgment.

Margo Martindale as Character Actress Margo Martindale: You surely recognize Character Actress Margo Martindale

Kimiko Glenn as Stefani Stilton: Diane's boss at blog GirlCroosh, Orange is the New Black's Kimiko Glenn is back as Stefani.

Celebrity Guest Stars In BoJack Horseman Season 5

Bobby Cannavale as Vance Waggoner: Almost BoJack's Philbert co-star until a string of controversy, that's the incomparable Bobby Cannavale (Ant-Man, Vinyl) as Vance Waggoner.

Whoopi Goldberg as Mikayla: Whoopi Goldberg gets in a very small cameo as Princess Carolyn's adoption seller who quickly disappears.

Laura Linney as Herself: In BoJack's Hollywoo, Laura Linney is starring a film that parallels Diane's trials (except it's an action movie).

John Leguizamo as Yolanda's Father: The sex-obsessed father of asexual Yolanda is played by John Leguizamo, an animation vet after Sid in Ice Age.

Eva Longoria as Yolanda's Mother: Former Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria is desperate for Todd in the role of Yolanda's mother.
