The best part about the recently released The Bob's Burgers Movie is that it felt like one long extended episode of the show, full of the personalities and character-based humor that has made the series stand out in recent years. With some great character moments to boot, it's only made it harder to decide on which character from the show is the best.

To make that decision easier, thousands of Bob's Burgers fans got together on Ranker and cast their votes for which characters are just that one step funnier or more charming than the rest. Although the movie may change some people's minds, these are how the results line up now.

Calvin Fischoeder

Calvin Fischoeder in Bob’s Burgers

Though he frequently takes on an antagonistic role in the story, Calvin's eccentricity won over many Bob's Burgers fans. The family's wealthy landlord and his sometimes shady business ventures mean he's often at the center when things go wrong, but when he is a villain, it's usually as a result of trying to cut corners and his own self-interest rather than genuine malice.

Although it's hard to call Calvin likable, as he often presents a very real problem to the Belcher family, he's a character that tends to make for some of the best plotlines. This includes The Bob's Burgers Movie, where a new, more sympathetic side of Calvin is shown after his brother's schemes go wrong.

Mickey

Mickey may not be very competent at his job operating the rides at Wonder Wharf, but the former criminal turns out to be one of the sweetest characters in the show. For all his past misdeeds and his unkempt style that caused him to fail four job interviews before Bob gave him a chance, Mickey is seemingly full of kindness and sensitivity.

There is something endearing about his unexpectedly mild-mannered nature that gives the character an added charm, whilst Bill Hader's excellent comedic delivery ensures that every humorous line lands. Despite occasional glimpses into his apparently very dark past, Mickey is a guy that's easy to love and many fans were glad he didn't turn out to be a one-time Bob's Burgers character.

Zeke

Zeke on Bobs Burgers.

One of the students at Wagstaff school, Zeke first appeared in season 2 and is a wrestling buddy of Jimmy Pesto, Jr. Over time, Zeke has won over many fans in his own right with his selfless protective nature that even leads to him running an afterschool self-defense class for women.

Despite not being particularly tall, Zeke's strong personality means he tends to steal the scenes he's in, and he somehow even manages to own being the school's mysterious "Mad Pooper". Like Jimmy, Zeke is one of the side characters that appear in The Bob's Burger's Movie, which reflects his growing presence in the show in recent seasons

Regular-sized Rudy

Although his real name is actually Rudolph Stieblitz, the existence of another student at the school called "Pocket-sized Rudy" meant the character got stuck with his unfortunate but hilarious nickname. First appearing in season 3 when he gets paired with Louise on a school trip, Regular-sized Rudy is immediately portrayed as completely unable to keep up with the youngest Belcher.

Though he may be afflicted with asthma that keeps him wheezing much of the time he's on-screen, Regular-sized Rudy's determination when it comes to sport and doing the things he wants to makes him immediately endearing. His interactions with Louise also make for one of the most entertaining relationships in the show.

Teddy

One of the funniest running jokes in Bob's Burgers is Teddy, a regular at the restaurant, assuming that he and Bob are best friends even as the other man does his best to keep a professional distance between them. A regular feature of the show since the beginning, it's hard not to root for Teddy and his charming obliviousness.

Unfortunately, it's also easy to see why Bob only really treats Teddy as another customer, as his loneliness makes him prone to telling far-too-long stories and getting overly emotional. There is an earnestness to the divorced handyman that means there's something inherently likable about him though, even as he tries way too hard to be involved with the Belcher family.

Gene Belcher

Gene holding his homemade musical instrument in The Bob's Burgers Movie

Gene may not be as popular as the other members of the Belcher household, but that doesn't mean the middle child isn't hilarious in his own right. This isn't necessarily a result of his own sense of humor, however, which generally involves pestering anyone within hearing distance and liberal use of fart sound effects.

Still, Gene isn't a character to write off as simply stupid for the sake of the show's jokes. As an aspiring musician, Gene is actually one of the most creative in the family when he has the energy for it. Whether getting dragged along in Louise's schemes or getting into trouble all on his own, Gene is an irreplaceable part of the family unit.

Linda Belcher

The mom of the Belcher family has boundless energy and a bottomless well of enthusiasm that even the cynical members can't help but be infected by at times. Whereas other members of the family often get wrapped up in personal crises, Linda Belcher is almost always the one trying to make others feel better.

That's just a part of Linda's charm, though, as she is also one of the outright funniest members of the family, constantly making jokes and finding the fun in almost any situation. Moms are an integral part of several of the best animated shows airing at the moment, but Linda has to take the title of the best.

Tina Belcher

Tina in Bob's Burgers

As the oldest child of the Belcher family, the show captures Tina at that awkward age between childhood and adolescence. Along with her lack of social skills, this makes for some hilarious if awkward situations as she gets caught up in her obsession with boys and, in particular Jimmy Pesto, Jr.

One of the things that makes Tina great is the voice acting of Dan Mintz who gives her the same flat, expressionless tone almost no matter the situation. As her slightly intense nature causes her to get swept up in adventures that always seem to get out of hand, this way of delivering every line becomes even funnier.

Bob Belcher

Even though the misadventures of the younger members of the family often end up dominating, Bob still remains the heart of the show. The polar opposite of his outgoing wife, Bob is introverted, down-to-earth, and even pessimistic at times. Despite this, his hardworking nature is what keeps their restaurant going through crisis after crisis.

It's also what makes him compelling to watch as a father. Bob often makes mistakes and can be a little too brutally honest with his children at times, but his earnestness tends to shine through when it matters. Whereas it would've been easy to make Bob the generic "everyman" main character, he has a nuance to him that makes him one of the best.

Louise Belcher

Gene, Louise, and Tina in Bob's Burgers

Voiced by the iconic Kristen Schaal, Louise manages to frequently outshine every other character in the show despite not even being the main character. The youngest member of the Belcher family, Louise is a constant source of chaos, getting the family into trouble often and sometimes even helping them out of it.

Always wearing her trademark pink bunny ears, Louise is subtly one of the smartest characters in the show. Unfortunately for the others, she tends to channel this into mischief and ill-fated schemes rather than anything productive. In episodes like "Ambergris", where she attempts to cheat the other siblings out of their profits, her troublesome nature makes for some of the show's greatest moments.
