In the new trailer for The Book of Boba Fett, Ming-Na Wen's Fennec Shand expresses her opinion about how Jabba's Tatooine territory should be run. The Book of Boba Fett, which will premiere on Disney+ on December 29, 2021, is the latest Star Wars series to be developed for the streaming service. It will be a spin-off focusing on the bounty hunter Boba Fett who hunted down Han Solo in the second film, The Empire Strikes Back, but was reintroduced to the franchise in The Mandalorian season 2.

Now, Boba Fett is played by New Zealand actor Temuera Morrison, who originally appeared in 2002's Attack of the Clones playing Jango Fett, the character from whom the bounty hunter is cloned. The series will follow Boba, having survived being knocked into the Sarlacc pit during the events of Return of the Jedi, returning to Tatooine with Ming-Na Wen's assassin character Fennec Shand, who was introduced in The Mandalorian. They will be working together to take over the territory that once belonged to Jabba the Hutt, who was killed shortly after Boba's fateful fall.

Disney+ just dropped a new TV spot for The Book of Boba Fett. The 30-second teaser adds a little more context to the partnership between Fennec Shand and Boba Fett. Fennec seems to be taking the place of an advisor, reminding Boba that fear is one of the best ways to rule, especially in a territory like this. Check out the teaser below:

Although the new teaser doesn't betray much more about what fans might expect from the plot of the show, it continues to highlight the character dynamics that will prevail throughout the series. While Boba Fett might be the title character, this show is setting itself up to be very much a two-hander as the pair navigate the complicated political world of Tatooine's underground. With Jabba's death leaving a power vacuum that has lasted years, the crime world is sure to have splintered into chaos, something that the experienced Fennec Shand seems perfectly capable of wrangling.

The Book of Boba Fett will be exploring the full story of a character that Star Wars fans have long been wanting to see more of in live-action. Considering the popularity of The Mandalorian, which is in many ways inspired by the fandom's love of Boba Fett, Disney+ seems perfectly able to handle the character in a way that will be satisfying. However, the lasting legacy of Boba Fett leaves some big armor to fill, so it remains to be seen how well they do.
