A new image promoting Disney+'s latest Star Wars series, The Book of Boba Fett, teases the upcoming premiere with a look at Ming-Na Wen's character, Fennec Shand. The Book of Boba Fett is the first of several planned spinoff series branching out from Disney+'s first hit Star Wars series, The Mandalorian. The latter show reintroduced Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) to live-action, providing the first concrete glimpse of the adult character in canon since the events of 1983's Return of the Jedi. Robert Rodriguez, who directed Fett's first episode in The Mandalorian, will return as executive producer and director for the character's upcoming series.

The Book of Boba Fett was first teased in a post-credits stinger at the end of The Mandalorian's season 2 finale. The brief scene depicted Fett and Fennec claiming the throne which previously belonged to the notorious crime lord, Jabba the Hut. Since then, trailers and synopses for the show tease the pair establishing a new criminal empire on the desert world of Tatooine, one governed by mutual respect rather than fear, in Fett's own words. With the show's premiere only a few days away, the studio's marketing push is beginning to ramp up.

A new image from the Star Wars Instagram page shows Fennec fully outfitted in her bounty hunter armor, with text that reads "THREE DAYS" surrounding her. Apart from a few minuscule changes, her design seems largely the same as her appearance in The Mandalorian. Check out the full image below:

Fennec quickly became a fan-favorite after her debut in The Mandalorian season 1 and has already made an appearance in Star Wars animation in Star Wars: The Bad Batch earlier this year. However, both shows utilized Fennec mostly as an aloof side character. Fortunately, promotional materials for The Book of Boba Fett portray Wen's character as a co-lead beside Fett himself. This will allow Rodriguez to explore the character's background and motivations more thoroughly.

Wen has proved to be one of Disney's most versatile talents, with the actress making appearances in both Marvel and Star Wars properties on top of her iconic role as the titular protagonist of 1998's Mulan. Considering Wen's involvement with The Mandalorian's spinoffs as well as The Bad Batch, it's likely that Fennec will become a recurring face in Star Wars canon in the vein of Forest Whitaker's Rogue One character, Saw Gerrera. Hopefully, Fennec survives through the events of The Book of Boba Fett so that she might play a role in future Star Wars shows set within the same era.
