Sophie Thatcher hints that her character on The Book of Boba Fett will be sticking around and appearing in more Star Wars projects. It was a busy week for Thatcher, as her hit series Yellowjackets wrapped up season 1 to critical acclaim and many wondered what would be in store for season 2. Just five days before the premiere of the Yellowjackets season finale, Thatcher made her first appearance on The Book of Boba Fett as Drash, leader of a rebellious speeder-bike gang with cybernetic enhancements.

The introduction to Drash and the speeder-bike gang has generated a great deal of controversy, with some fans in favor of the characters as a homage to George Lucas' earlier film American Graffiti and others saying the characters' colorful bikes stand out too much in the Star Wars universe, particularly the beige color palette of Tatooine. Working closely with Boba Fett to defend him from Black Krrsantan and chasing down the Mayor of Mos Espa's majordomo, Drash has become a key member in Boba's gang and will likely be a bigger player in the series moving forward.

In an interview with THR, Thatcher talks about filming The Book of Boba Fett on the backlot, and a scene in an upcoming episode that filmed in the volume, the cutting-edge technology made famous by The Mandalorian. In referencing that, she realizes she's let it slip that her character will be sticking around for a bit. Thatcher was unable to give further details, however, as Lucasfilm wants to keep whatever they have planned next a secret:

Most of it was on the backlot. I have something else in the volume, but I also don’t know how much I can say. You can assume my character might be in more stuff. [...] Yeah, I don’t disappear. (Laughs.) I don’t even know if I’m allowed to say that.

While Thatcher's comment could just refer to her appearing in future episodes of The Book of Boba Fett, the show tells an interconnected story with The Mandalorian, the upcoming Ahsoka series, and the announced Rangers of the New Republic show, which have potential for multiple crossovers. It is likely Thatcher would reprise her role as Drash in any crossover, should she remain part of the new Daimyo's team, with The Mandalorian season 3 a particularly strong candidate given Boba Fett's role in season 2. Additionally, it is also unclear if The Book of Boba Fett is set to only be a limited series or an ongoing one, as Thatcher could reprise her role in further seasons of the series.

It is also possible that Lucasfilm has plans to make a spinoff show based around the biker gang, with Thatcher as the lead of the series. While it would seem odd for such a controversial addition to the Star Wars mythos to receive their own show, the fact is that it sometimes takes fans time to come around to an idea or character. Ahsoka was originally disliked by many when she was first introduced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, but since then has become a favorite and was a welcome addition to Star Wars: Rebels and The Mandalorian. So, when considered in this light, a The Book of Boba Fett spinoff about the Biker Gang is not entirely out of the realm of possibility.
