Ming-Na Wen, who plays Star Wars’ Fennec Shand, shared her hope for The Book of Boba Fett season 2. Following Disney and Lucasfilm’s divisive sequel trilogy, the galaxy far, far away has found new life on Disney+ with The Mandalorian. The series also brought back Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison), revealing Star Wars’ iconic bounty hunter survived his fall into Return of the Jedi’s Sarlaac Pit.

The Mandalorian season 2 finale’s credits scene set up The Book of Boba Fett, which followed its titular character in his war with the Pyke Syndicate over Jabba the Hutt’s territory on Tatooine. Season 1's latter episodes ostensibly morphed into The Mandalorian season 2.5, focusing on Din Dajrin (Pedro Pascal), Grogu, and even Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) before introducing a live-action Cad Bane (Corey Burton and Dorian Kingi)—who was abruptly killed by Boba in the finale. While it was never labeled a limited series like Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Book of Boba Fett has not been confirmed for a season 2. However, that hasn’t kept Boba’s right-hand woman from holding out hope.

While attending Fan Expo Boston (via Star Wars News Net), Wen opened up about The Book of Boba Fett. When asked about her career and what project she’s looking forward to, the actress shared her hopes for The Book of Boba Fett season 2. Read the full quote below:

"Second season of The Book of Boba Fett, I hope! I never count my chickens before they hatch, because in this business, you just never know. But, knock on wood, they'll be announcing that soon."

This isn’t the first time Wen has expressed hope that The Book of Boba Fett would return. Unless she's teasing an upcoming announcement, her recent comments are far from confirmation of a season 2. Despite having high viewership numbers, The Book of Boba Fett's reviews were mixed—especially when compared to The Mandalorian. In many ways, the series feels like a precursor to The Mandalorian season 3—which takes place directly after and may feature characters like Boba, Fennec, and Cobb Vanth (Timothy Olyphant)—whose return was set up in The Book of Boba Fett’s post-credits scene.

The next live-action Star Wars series to hit Disney+ will be the Rogue One prequel Andor, followed by The Mandalorian season 3, Ahsoka, Skeleton Crew, The Acolyte, and Lando. With so much competition atop its lukewarm reception, The Book of Boba Fett may not be granted additional chapters. Still, Disney+ Day and D23 are on the horizon and The Book of Boba Fett season 2 could very well be announced. However, If it does get a second season, it won’t be premiering on Disney+ anytime soon.
