Bob Saget’s wife, Kelly Rizzo, posts a heartfelt tribute to her late husband following the Full House actor, comedian, and television host’s funeral service on Friday in Los Angeles. On top of his successful stand-up comedy career, Saget was best known for playing beloved TV dad Danny Tanner on the ABC sitcom Full House from 1987 to 1995 and 10 episodes of its recent Netflix sequel series, Fuller House. He was also served as the elder Ted Mosby/narrator of How I Met Your Mother, and was the original host of America’s Funniest Home Videos across the 1990s.

Sadly, Saget was found dead in a hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton, Orlando, Grande Lakes on January 9, 2022 at the age of 65. While his exact cause of death remains unknown, The Orange County Sheriff's has ruled out foul play or drug use. Prior to his death, Saget had just performed a comedy set the night before in Jacksonville. In response to the news of his passing, droves of fans and co-stars took to the internet to mourn. Now, Saget’s wife has spoken out for the first time since her late husband’s funeral.

Rizzo, 42, posted a touching tribute to Saget via Instagram on Saturday, January 15. She included a picture of herself and her late husband with a caption that begins, “My sweet husband. After much reflection this week, I’m trying, really trying, to not think I was robbed of time." Rizzo expressed that she was instead trying to think “How lucky was I that I got to be the one to be married to THE MOST INCREDIBLE MAN ON EARTH. I was the one who got to go on this crazy ride with him and be in his life these last 6 years.” Read Rizzo's tribute below:

Words like “kind” and “loving” have been used to describe Saget in every tribute shared by comedians and celebrities who knew him, such as Dave Chapelle, Pete Davidson, John Stamos, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Jimmy Kimmel, and Judd Apatow. Many of these people were among the hundreds who attended his funeral, which has been described as “a perfect goodbye.” Saget's wife describes the late comedian by simply saying "he was love,” and that love was no doubt on full display at the service.

Saget’s death was a shocking and heartbreaking loss for fans of Full House and his body of work, but even more so for those in his life who thought they’d have more time. As celebrities, fans, friends, and loved ones continue to pay tribute to Saget, it’s important to follow his lead, let those you love know you love them and help to honor his legacy. As mentioned in Rizzo’s post, the Scleroderma Research Foundation was indescribably important to Saget and his family. His sister, Gay, died of scleroderma at just 47 years of age in 1994. Saget became involved with the foundation before her diagnosis and later became a board member. Saget passed away on what would have been his sister’s 75th birthday. Fans can donate to the foundation to help continue spreading his love.
