Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen honor their Full House co-star, Bob Saget, in light of his passing. The famed twins got their start alternately playing Michelle, Danny Tanner's youngest daughter in the late-'80s/early-'90s sitcom. The Olsens didn't return to reprise their role in Netflix's spinoff Fuller House, but despite that, they maintain relationships with their former castmates and are likewise devastated by Saget's death.

The shocking news broke on Sunday, January 9. According to reports, Saget was found unconscious in his Ritz-Carlton Hotel room in Orlando, Florida. The Sheriff's and Fire departments were called in at around 4PM ET, but the actor was supposedly pronounced dead on the scene, with the cause of his death still uncertain. The comedian was in Jacksonville as part of his comedy tour, I Don't Do Negative. In his last tweet, he expressed excitement over being able to perform live shows again.

Shortly after Saget's untimely demise was reported, fans and industry peers started paying tribute to him on social media. Contributing to this wave of appreciation, the Olsen twins release an official statement (via People) honoring their late-TV dad by reminiscing about his warmth and generosity. They also extend their condolences to his family. Read the pair's full statement below:

Bob was the most loving, compassionate and generous man. We are deeply saddened that he is no longer with us but know that he will continue to be by our side to guide us as gracefully as he always has. We are thinking of his daughters, wife and family and are sending our condolences.

Before Fuller House premiered in 2016, there were conflicting reports about Mary-Kate and Ashley's involvement. At one point, the girls were open to doing it, but, for some reason, a deal was never made. Amidst the rumors that there was a falling out between the Olsen twins and their Full House cast over their decision to not appear in the sequel show, Saget came out and debunked those speculations. He revealed that, whenever he was in New York, he made sure to always catch up with the Olsens, who are both based in the city running their fashion label, The Row. In fact, the pair's real-life job was the inspiration for Michelle's story in the Netflix spinoff; being based out of San Francisco effectively explained why they never hang out with their family.

Aside from the Olsen Ttwins, several other Full House cast members have also honored Saget. John Stamos, Candace Cameron-Bure, and Dave Coulier, who played Jesse Katsopolis, DJ Tanner, and Joey Gladstone all took to their respective Twitter accounts to express grief over the loss of their great friend. Fans can expect more tributes to pour in as the entertainment industry continues to grapple with the loss of a key figure in American TV history.
