Bob Odenkirk's son says that the actor is in stable condition after being hospitalized during the filming of the sixth season of Better Call Saul. The legal crime series explores the character of Jimmy McGill, who is a former con artist trying to turn his life around and make a name for himself as an earnest lawyer. In Breaking Bad, which takes place after the events of Better Call Saul, Jimmy appears under a pseudonym, Saul Goodman, a "criminal" attorney who supervises Walter White and Jesse Pinkman on their criminal activities.

Odenkirk has continued to receive rave reviews for his performance as Jimmy McGill, garnering numerous award nominations for his lead performance and as a producer for the show. The series also stars Jonathan Banks, Rhea Seehorn, Giancarlo Esposito, Michael Mando, Patrick Fabian, and Tony Dalton. As the seasons go on and the show gets deeper into the universe of Breaking Bad, the timeline of Better Call Saul slowly inches closer to it, with one more season left to tie things together. The series is now in production of its final season, which will be an extended 13 episodes.

In an update by TMZ, Odenkirk is in recovery from a heart-related emergency after being hospitalized while shooting the final season of Better Call Saul and is confirmed to be okay by his son Nate, who took to social media to inform on his condition. Odenkirk was recently admitted after collapsing on the set of the show in Albuquerque, New Mexico and was immediately aided by surrounding crew members, who called an ambulance. The post from Odenkirk's son can be viewed below:

Since the news of Odenkirk's collapse, he has received passionate support amongst fans and co-stars who have issued heartfelt wishes, including Breaking Bad stars, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, as well as David Cross, with whom Odenkirk co-created the sketch comedy series, Mr. Show with Bob and David. His recuperation will certainly cause the production of Better Call Saul to be briefly halted, which has been underway since March and is more than halfway through filming.

Despite the delay, it is relieving to hear that Odenkirk will recover from what was a scary and sudden event. Odenkirk has been on the rise with his latest starring role in the successful action thriller film, Nobody, and continues to be in high demand having recently announced he will be writing a memoir, anticipated to be released in 2022. The final season of Better Call Saul is expected to premiere early next year, and there have been many teasers from the creators and Odenkirk himself about the events that will occur. But many can now be very thankful for the update that Odenkirk will be alright.
