Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk publicly comments for the first time since his heart attack, thanking family, friends, and fans for their support. Earlier this week, the actor was filming Better Call Saul season 6 when he collapsed on-set and was rushed to the hospital. After an extended period of time without any updates, Odenkirk's son Nate tweeted his father was going to be OK and thanked everyone for the outpouring of well-wishes.

When news of Odenkirk's hospitalization broke, several people - including Odenkirk's Breaking Bad co-stars - shared their words of support for the actor. In another encouraging update, Odenkirk's Mr. Show co-star David Cross shared he had talked with Odenkirk over the phone and "he's doing great!" Odenkirk's collapse and hospitalization were very sudden and alarming, so it comes as a great relief to see the actor publicly come out to state he's going to be OK. At the time of Odenkirk's heart attack, Better Call Saul season 6 was in the midst of shooting, having started production back in March. The project had encountered delays due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and shooting will have to be put on-hold while Odenkirk makes his recovery. As anticipated Better Call Saul season 6 is, everyone would agree Odenkirk's health is the top priority right now, and the actor should take all the time he needs to make a full recovery before returning to work.

AMC was targeting an early 2022 release date for Better Call Saul season 6. Those plans may have to change, depending on how Odenkirk's recovery goes. The network has not yet made any announcements regarding the Better Call Saul shooting schedule, which is understandable since the primary concern the past few days has been Odenkirk's health. Now that everyone knows Odenkirk will be OK and the actor is on the road to recovery, the creative team can figure out the next steps for Better Call Saul's production. No matter what happens on that front, everyone can rest easy knowing this scare is behind Odenkirk, and he'll be receiving the best treatment. As he said, it'll "take a beat" for him to get back in front of the cameras, but he'll return in the near future.
