DC Comics unveiled a handful of previews for their upcoming Future State event and one particular comic showcased some new heroes connected to Superman. In Future State: Superman: House of El #1, a new Blue Lantern will debut who has a close connection to the future Superman and the original Man of Steel.
DC's Future State event is a two-month, line-wide event that will come after the multiverse-shattering Dark Nights: Death Metal. The event will see the rise of new heroes and the return of some fan-favorites. DC Comics has already teased Future State versions of Batman, Wonder Woman, and a new, non-binary Flash - with many for new takes on legacy heroes coming. Among the new characters is a brand-new Blue Lantern.
In the one-shot, Superman: House of El #1, Superman's bloodline thousands of years into the future will be showcased. The Kryptonians of the House of El will be fighting against an all-new villain named the Red King. Among the heroes include a much-older Superman, Tamarean Theand'r Ban-El, as well as Rowan and Ronan Kent - who are descendants of Jon Kent, who becomes Superman in the Future State timeline. While Rowan will become the Superman of Earth, Ronan will become a Blue Lantern.
Ronan can be seen in the cover above, with a blue helmet blocking her eyes.
Being a Blue Lantern is a fitting position for someone related to Superman. In the DC Universe, Blue Lanterns represent hope and is the most powerful light on the entire Emotional Spectrum. Considering Superman has always been a beacon of hope, Kal-El would probably be[tldr_position] very proud to see his descendant put on the Blue Lantern Power Ring.
