Does Bloodshot have a post-credits scene? Sony Pictures' Bloodshot is based on the Valiant Comics character of the same name, with Vin Diesel bringing the Marine-turned-superhero to life on the big screen. As the actor said recently, Bloodshot could start a Valiant Comics cinematic universe along the lines of the MCU or the DCEU. Though Valiant isn't one of the big two comics publishers, they have enough characters that a franchise is possible - but Bloodshot will have to be successful first.

As seen in the Bloodshot movie trailers, the film follows Diesel's Ray Garrison, a U.S. Marine who's murdered alongside his wife and brought back to life using experimental nanotechnology pioneered by Dr. Emil Harting (Guy Pearce). Ray tries to assimilate into Harting's group of enhanced soldiers - which includes KT (Eiza González), Jimmy Dalton (Sam Heughan) and Tibbs (Alex Hernandez) - but when he starts to remember the man who murdered his wife, Bloodshot sets out on a mission of revenge. Now, Diesel's superhero movie is hitting theaters around the world so fans can see Bloodshot for themselves.

Those checking out Bloodshot in theaters may be wondering if the movie has any credits scenes setting up the larger Valiant comics universe Diesel is hoping to explore. Bloodshot does NOT have a post-credits scenes or any other teases during the credits. While the credits are always worth watching to get an idea of who's involved in the making of a film, Bloodshot audiences shouldn't expect anything extra.

Vin Diesel and Sam Heughan in Bloodshot

Considering Bloodshot is even less of a surefire hit than Marvel and DC Comics properties, it makes sense for Sony and director Dave Wilson to play it safe by not including any post-credits scenes. While Diesel may have high hopes of Bloodshot launching a shared comic book movie universe, the first film has to be successful before the studio entertains any kind of franchise plans. After all, Sony had to scrap their own Marvel movie universe when The Amazing Spider-Man 2 underperformed at the box office. It seems the studio learned a valuable lesson about overstuffing a film full with too much world-building.

As of now, it's not clear if Bloodshot will get a sequel, let alone kickstart an entire Valiant cinematic universe. The Bloodshot movie reviews have been mixed-to-negative, indicating Sony doesn't have the perfect franchise-starter on their hands. So it's good that Bloodshot doesn't have a post-credits scene. If the movie turns out to be a surprise hit at the box office and/or with fans, it could still be a success and help point Sony in the right direction for future Valiant Comics-based movies. But for now, all moviegoers need to know about Bloodshot is that it doesn't have a post-credits scene.
