Developer Lilith Walther recently showed off the first 10 minutes of Bloodborne's PSX demake, complete with accurate-looking gameplay and character creator options. The PSX demake for Bloodborne has kept retro fans at the edge of their seats all year, thanks to Walther regularly offering updates on the project's progress. She shared a quick look at levels and combat in January, along with map loading details and character customization teases. And in July, the internet received a glimpse at retro Father Gascoigne in action on the classic PlayStation hardware.

While remasters and remakes continue to flood the market, demakes appeal to a niche of their own. Remedy Entertainment joined in on the fun for April Fool's Day, unleashing a trailer that reimagined 2019 hit Control as a PS1 classic. Playable demakes seem as though they're here to stay as well, evidenced in their growing popularity. Just this year, Super Mario Odyssey received an impressive 2D remake modeled after how it would run on an NES console. Ohana Studio unleashed early footage of a Breath of the Wild demake based on Game Boy Color graphics. And, of course, amidst the Resident Evil Village hype came a demake trailer created with the original PlayStation in mind.

Developer Lilith Walther's latest update regarding the Bloodborne demake provides an extensive look at the project's first 10 minutes of gameplay. And, yes, that includes the main menu screen, opening cinematic, character customization, and first area - all de-made to an astonishingly accurate degree. When the Hunter dies at the hands of a hungry werewolf, they soon thereafter awaken in the Hunter's Dream location, which Walther also accurately rendered in line with what players see while exploring the original Bloodborne.

Walther noted in the video description that Iosefka's Clinic has received "a lot of polish" since it was last shown. The developer also overhauled the main menu and added the Blood Transfuser as a new Hunter's tool. Though the Hunter's Dream has changed very little, two new additions did make the cut for this particular reveal - "the initial messenger weapon granting" and an 'investigate' camera for Doll.

FromSoftware and Sony released Bloodborne in 2015 exclusively on the PlayStation 4 and it remains one of the system's most-beloved titles. But in the era of 60fps gameplay options, Bloodborne is already starting to show its age, leaving Soulsborne faithful acing for a proper Bloodborne PS5 upgrade and PC port.
