A PlayStation insider has teased Bloodborne's return, leaving fans of the FromSoftware classic hopeful for a PS5 upgrade, PC release, or even a sequel. Fans have been calling for either a follow-up or a remaster of the popular PS4 exclusive for years now, with many users also hoping for Bloodborne to also release for PC.

Bloodborne launched in 2015 and was highly praised for showcasing what the then-new PlayStation 4 was capable of during players' exploration of the game's blood-drenched gothic world. It soon became a fan favorite, and as a result, rumors of a Bloodborne remaster for PS5 have been circulating since 2020, only five years after the game's launch. These rumors further picked up traction in 2021 upon Sony's acquisition of Bluepoint Games, a studio known for its video game remasters and remakes such as PlayStation's Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Shadow of the Colossus, and fellow FromSoftware classic Demon's Souls. Fans have been disappointed when no Bloodborne-related announcements have been made at various PlayStation showcases, however, the rumors and teases still persist.

The latest Bloodborne tease comes from PlayStation insider and former IGN journalist, Colin Moriarty, during the Sacred Symbols podcast, as spotted by Redditor aadipie. The 200th episode ranks the top 25 best PlayStation 4 games, and when Bloodborne was somewhat inevitably mentioned, Moriarty teased: "You haven't seen the last of Bloodborne, I'll tell you that." Given Moriarty's history with reliable PlayStation claims, with a particularly notable example being when he relayed word of the Demon Souls remake prior to its 2020 announcement, this appears to be one of the most reliable teases yet that the Bloodborne series will return.

Moriarty's tease didn't indicate when fans could see more Bloodborne, or whether they can expect a sequel, remaster, or whether the series will follow in the footsteps of past PlayStation exclusives such as God of War or Horizon Zero Dawn in getting a PC port. There is also the possibility that much like many last-generation titles, Bloodborne could get a PS5 upgrade, eschewing the need for a full remaster whilst still providing an enhanced experience with 4K visuals with a High Dynamic Range for current-gen players. For players wanting more Bloodborne who aren't necessarily bothered about highly detailed graphics, there is a playable Bloodborne demake available on PC which boasts nostalgic PlayStation 1-era visuals, and the developer has recently announced Bloodborne Kart, a Mario Kart-esque racer featuring the Bloodborne demake's characters and environments.

While the future of Bloodborne is still unclear, Moriarty's tease will surely please fans who are eagerly awaiting any kind of update regarding the series. In the meantime, current-gen players who are eager to play some of FromSoftware's infamously challenging titles aren't exactly lacking for content, with critically acclaimed titles such as Elden Ring and the Demon Souls remake boasting impressive visuals on the newer hardware.
