Bling Empire, affectionately referred to by fans as Selling Sunset meets Crazy Rich Asians, follows the inner circle of affluent Asian-Americans in Los Angeles. From trust fund babies to wealthy entrepreneurs, this series gives viewers a look at the extravagant lifestyles of glam socialites. Kim Lee is a Bling Empire cast member that fans are curious about.
Kim Lee was born to a Vietnamese mother and is a Los Angeles native. In L.A., she attended Scratch Academy, a leading academy for DJs. According to The Cinemaholic, she also spent time pursuing her modeling career in the mid-2000s. She walked runways in Paris and also walked for fashion designers such as Marc Jacobs during New York Fashion Week. In addition, she appeared in several ad campaigns and magazine spreads. Kim also tried her hand at acting, with a role in the popular movie The Hangover Part II.
Kim Lee is celebrated for being a world-renowned DJ. She was named Asia's Calvin Harris by one of her Bling Empire costars. Kim says at her official Kim Lee website that she has become one of the biggest DJs in the industry and that she is especially popular in East Asia. She has performed alongside (and toured with) stars such as Steve Aoki, Diplo, and Skrillex. She opened for Steve Aoki during his 2013 Asia Tour. She has also performed at festivals and is rumored to charge up to $50,000 per show. In addition to being a DJ, Kim can be found in the music videos for big celebrities, such as Katy Perry, Kanye West, and Nicki Minaj.
In recent years, she has been seen on Vietnamese reality programs, such as Amazing Race Vietnam and Vietnam's Got Talent. She currently hosts Yo! MTV Raps Asia and works as a DJ in L.A. As her friend Kane mentioned in the series, she has become something of a household name, especially in East Asia. The self-made millionaire has built a successful career as a model, actor, and DJ, which has made it possible for her to earn an estimated net worth of $10 million.
