The Netflix reality show Bling Empire has taught viewers plenty of lessons. Thanks to "Necklacegate," fans know about the value and prestige of high jewelry. After Andrew Gray verbally assaulted his girlfriend Kelly Mi Li (she's a film producer) over the phone, fans listened and took heed of Anna's now-infamous words, "There ain't no d*ck that good." As it turns out, viewers weren't the only ones learning. The cast also learned a lot about themselves when fans reacted to Bling Empire. In fact, Christine Chiu says that fan feedback has helped her to become a better mother.

Christine Chiu was made out to be the season one villain. As Kane explained, Anna Shay had been out of the social scene for years, which left a queen's throne open for the taking, and, Christine Chiu gladly took a seat. When Anna returned to the social scene at Christine's Lunar New Year party, everyone held their breath because there could never be two queens. Trying to keep things civil, Anna invited Christine to her lavish dinner party. This dinner party, better known as the backdrop for "Necklacegate," cemented Christine's position as the villain. Fans of the show genuinely couldn't believe Christine would wear the same piece of high jewelry (a Louis Vuitton pink sapphire and diamond necklace) the host owned to a dinner party.

Fans gave Christine a hard time for the faux pas. It didn't help Christine's case that Anna Shay emerged as the series' fan-favorite... and reality TV's newest icon. In an interview with Good Housekeeping, Christine said, "I was a little hurt by some of the comments, and I started to cry a little. Baby G walked by, and he was really saddened that I was saddened." Then, Christine had a breakthrough, "At that moment I thought, ‘What a great responsibility being a mom is because I have to be strong for him. This is a great opportunity for me to teach Baby G about knowing himself.'"

Christine realized she needed to listen to the advice she was giving her own son. She said, "I need to know who I am and not be so easily influenced by people I have no idea even exist or are even people and not bots." It was a powerful moment for this new mother. "As a new mom, I'm trying to teach him little lessons here and there, and in turn, I'm learning too."

Having gone through a physically and emotionally grueling 10-year struggle to conceive before giving birth to Baby G, Christine is fiercely protective. She's also fiercely loving when it comes to her baby boy. She adores being Baby G's mother, and said, "Teaching him is more rewarding than any fashion show I could ever, ever attend." However, the child's father Dr. Gabriel wants to give Baby G a baby sister. To do that, the couple would need to use a surrogate. Christine (for a lot of very good reasons) isn't completely comfortable doing that. For all the criticism she received over the rivalry with Anna Shay, Christine also received an outpouring of love and support regarding her fertility journey. She said she's received calls, DMs, and more, including offers from people who want to be her surrogate. At the end of the day, Christine says, "we just want to make sure we have a good handle on being good parents before we bring another human being into the world."

When it comes to the cast of Bling Empire, there is one thing that sets the show apart from the rest of the reality TV series', which is the fact that the cast members seem to genuinely care about each other's well-being. They are there for each other through good and bad, and they keep it real. According to Christine, all that friendly love on the show is real. Outside the show, the gang had a group chat where they made "memes of each other and poked fun at each other and even really encouraged and helped each other along the way." That's one more reason why fans can't wait for Bling Empire season 2. Come on, Netflix!
