Clueless star Alicia Silverstone says she would love to do a Blast From the Past sequel with Brendan Fraser. The romantic comedy was released in 1999 and stars Fraser as Adam Webber, a man who lived his entire life in a fallout shelter before one day leaving and meeting Eve (Silverstone). Webber discovers the modern world with Eve by his side before his naivety and innocence get them in trouble. It's been 24 years since the film came out, but Silverstone believes there's more of the story to tell.
Silverstone shared her hopes for a Blast From the Past sequel during a reunion panel for Clueless at '90s Con (via Variety). Silverstone and Fraser both attended the Vanity Fair Oscar Party on March 12, and the former shared her excitement for Fraser's Oscar speech. Check out Silverstone's full comments below:
With Brendan? I would do anything with Brendan. It was so much fun. I just saw Brendan after he won his Oscar and he’s so cute. He talked in his speech about how we all go through this really hard time and you have to grow and it’s part of life that you struggle and then look what happened to him! So yes, I’m happy to do that.
What's Next For Brendan Fraser
Since Fraser’s Oscar win, Hollywood has been buzzing with excitement for his return. The actor is taking the spotlight for the first time in about a decade, and many of his old co-stars are cheering him on. Darren Aronofsky's decision to cast Fraser in The Whale was risky, but it paid off. Fraser is finally getting the recognition he deserves, and anticipation is building for what's next.
With Fraser's new capital, there's been some talk of him rejoining The Mummy franchise for a fourth installment. Most of it has been speculation, though, rather than anything official.
