Jared Leto is getting a new action figure based on his role in the critically acclaimed Blade Runner sequel, Blade Runner 2049. While Leto has starred in films and TV shows for the past 25 years, the Oscar-winning Dallas Buyers Club star's work mostly consisted of dramas that aren't typically marketed the way comic book and sci-fi movies are. That all changed, of course, when he was cast as The Joker in the 2016 blockbuster Suicide Squad, which he followed up with last week with the role of replicant industrialist Niander Wallace opposite Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford in director Denis Villeneuve's futuristic opus Blade Runner 2049.

Naturally, by wading into the waters of the comic book and sci-fi genres, Leto has for the first time been cast in plastic action figure form, starting with several figures based on his dazzling look as the Clown Prince of Crime in Suicide Squad. And now, with the arrival of Blade Runner: 2049 in theaters, another figure of Leto is on the way.

According to The Toyark, NECA has given a sneak peek as the upcoming 7-inch figure of Niander Wallace from the film. ToyArk noticed how a headshot of the figure suddenly appeared as the profile photo for NECA's Twitter account Wednesday, and tweeted out the news that the Wallace figure was being produced. The Wallace figure will be included in the second wave of NECA's Blade Runner 2049 line, which kicked off before the film hit theaters with the release of 7-inch figures of Ford as Rick Deckard and Gosling as Officer K. News of the figures immediately got fans asking questions on Twitter about what other characters will be released. The toy and collectibles company said while a figure of Joi (Ana de Armas) is not in the works, future releases won't just consist of the male actors in the cast – leaving open the possibility of figures being produced of Niander's enforcer Luv (Sylvia Hoeks) and Officer K's superior Lieutenant Joshi (Robin Wright), as well as (spoiler). Naturally, Dave Bautista's Sapper Morton should be in the running, too, even though his character in the film isn't featured as prominently as many of the others.

Until NECA reveals the full contents of its second wave of Blade Runner 2049 figures, fans should be pretty stoked about the sneak peek of the Wallace figure. The sculpt no doubt nails the likeness of Leto in the film, right down to the character's "blinded" white pupils (which Leto achieved by wearing special contacts that literally blinded him during filming).

On top of its action figure releases, NECA has other merchandise planned for its Blade Runner 2049 line, including 6-inch die-cast version of the Blade Runner 2049 Spinner vehicle in its Cinemachines line, as well as a 3-inch Spinner. In addition, the company has produced the companion book The Art and Soul of Blade Runner, which offers a behind-the-scenes look at the production, the film's characters, environments and technology used in the film.
