Kevin Feige confirms that Marvel Studios will eventually reveal whether or not Yelena Belova was affected by Thanos' (Josh Brolin) snap. Black Widow introduced a few new characters in the MCU despite being set in the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War. That includes Florence Pugh's role as Natasha Romanoff's (Scarlett Johansson) adopted sister who was also subjected to the Red Room training.

Marvel Studios worked around Nat's death in Endgame by setting her standalone film before the arrival of Thanos. But, Black Widow's post-credits scene effectively brought it into the present with Yelena visiting her sister's grave in an unknown location. From there, she's ambushed by Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfuss), with whom she already has a working connection. It's uncertain how long they've been in contact with each other, but based on the banter, it seems like they've already established a rapport. Now, the question is if their relationship goes back to the five years after Thanos' decimation in Avengers: Infinity War or if it's fairly new.

During the Black Widow watch party, Feige took over Marvel Studios' official Twitter account and answered questions from fans. One asked him if Yelena was dusted by the blip. The MCU architect didn't provide any answer but teased that it's something that will be addressed in the foreseeable future. Check out his full tweet below:

It's no secret that Marvel Studios has a lot of plans for Yelena, and it helps that the public is already invested in the character after her stint in Black Widow. After appearing on the big screen, she's expected to be involved in the upcoming Disney+ show, Hawkeye starring Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton and Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop. It's still unclear what her role is in the series, but considering the path Val paved for her to seek revenge against the bow and arrow-wielding Avenger, it's not outside the realm of possibility that she would do just that. Beyond that, no clear indication where else she might pop up, but she's certainly part of the team the Contessa is slowly assembling.

Regardless of what lies far ahead for Yelena Belova in the MCU, the important thing is that Marvel Studios has no scarcity in opportunities addressing this lingering question. Whether or not the character was dusted by Thanos could be significant in Nat's personal motivation to bring back those who were snuffed out of existence in Endgame. It's worth noting that her death in Vormir remains to be a hot topic online, especially since Black Widow didn't really do anything to justify that creative decision. Perhaps if it's revealed that her Russian family was also decimated, fans might be more understanding of the reason for her death.
