In Marvel's What If...? multiverse, Black Widow wielded Mjolnir and became the new God of Thunder after Thor died during Ragnarok. In a reality where the Avengers had all been killed and the giant serpent dragon known as Jormungand took out Thor, Black Widow decided to make one last attempt at stopping the end of the world by grabbing Mjolnir and becoming a new kind of hero.

Thor's hammer Mjolnir is specifically enchanted so that only those deemed worthy can lift it and gain its incredible power. Over the years, however, many heroes across the Marvel Universe have held the hammer. In Marvel's What If...? story arcs, one of the most common stories saw unexpected heroes lifting Mjolnir and becoming Thor. Those stories saw Rogue from X-Men killing Thor and gaining his powers, Conan the Barbarian being gifted the hammer as Thor was on his deathbed, and most famously, Jane Foster becoming Thor - the latter story being so popular it was later made canon.

In Marvel's What If? Age of Ultron #3 by Joe Keatinge, Mico Suayan, Raffaele Ienco, Jean-Francois Beaulieu, and VC's Joe Sabino, the story imagines the God of Thunder's final battle against Jormungand. Following Thor's demise in the fight, Jorgumand went on a killing spree, taking out almost all of the Avengers, as the world exploded into chaos in the wake of Ragnarok. The only surviving heroes included Nick Fury, Black Widow, Microchip, Falcon, and Shang-Chi. The squad took on a deadly frost giant army in Latveria and soon went after Jormungand and its army. It's there Black Widow found the spot Mjolnir was left and lifted the hammer to become the new Thor.

Black Widow Thor Worthy Marvel Comics

Black Widow wastes no time showing off her incredible new abilities, as she dives into battle against the mammoth Jormungand. The comic concludes with Nick Fury recounting how great Natasha was as Thor, as he says out of all the insane things he's experienced over his life, nothing topped the day she fought the monster. Fury admits nothing compared to Black Widow alongside her warriors and valkyries, as he calls her "the stuff of legend."

While readers only get to see Natasha in action with Mjolnir for a couple of pages, Black Widow shows why she's worthy as she fearlessly goes after Jormungand and helps stop Ragnarok before the world is turned into ash. In this What If...? storyline, Black Widow proved to be Marvel's ultimate hero. It would certainly be fun to see the one-shot continued and Natasha's time as Thor further showcased, even if it's out-of-continuity.
