Black Widow Battles Taskmaster in MCU Movie Keyframe Art

Black Widow and Taskmaster Artwork

Marvel artist Andy Park shared keyframe artwork from the Black Widow solo film featuring Black Widow battling Taskmaster. Black Widow first appeared in Iron Man 2 back in 2010 when she went undercover as a notary public for Tony Stark, and later became a main character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and one of the six original Avengers.

Despite Black Widow sacrificing herself to get the Soul Stone from Vormir, the character is still getting her own solo movie, set to release 10 years after her first appearance in the MCU. This is possible since Black Widow will take place in between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. As for the villain Taskmaster, he was thought to be the bad guy long before San Diego Comic-Con, but the event this weekend confirmed Taskmaster as the villain. Pictures and videos from the set of Black Widow revealed Taskmaster as the villain, and now fans can gaze their eyes upon official artwork from the film.

Marvel artist Andy Park shared his artwork for the film on his Twitter account. The keyframe illustration, which looks to be a Comic-Con exclusive, shows Black Widow fighting Taskmaster on a bridge. While there isn't a lot of context behind the artwork, this is the first official look at Taskmaster. Check out Park's artwork below:

While Marvel revealed their full slate of movies for Phase 4 at their panel, there was a lot of information that came out about the long-awaited Black Widow solo film. The release date for Black Widow was confirmed for May 1, 2020, and as long as there aren't any unanticipated issues with production, Marvel should have no problem hitting that date. Fans who attended the panel were also treated to official footage from Black Widowand by the description, it seems that Park's artwork came to life for one of the clips. The cast of Black Widow was also confirmed at the event, many of whom had been previously reported.

Fans have been waiting a long time for Black Widow to get her own solo movie, but many fans are likely just as excited for Taskmaster to be introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Taskmaster has gathered a large fanbase ever since his introduction in the 1980 comic The Avengers #185, and from this artwork, it seems like Black Widow is staying comic accurate to Taskmaster's costume. If the film remains truly faithful to the comics, Taskmaster will be a formidable opponent to Black Widow in 2020.
