New fan art for the upcoming film Black Widow shows the villain Taskmaster in his comic accurate costume. The film is the first project in the MCU's massive Phase 4, and this morning the first Black Widow movie trailer hit the Internet. Fans were given their first look at Scarlett Johansson's Natasha Romanoff in her first solo outing as she confronts her past. This means facing the Red Room that trained her and reuniting with some old allies. Based on the trailer, those allies seem to include Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Alexei Shostakov/the Red Guardian (David Harbour), and Melina Vostokoff (Rachel Weisz).

It was confirmed earlier this year that Black Widow's villain would be Taskmaster. In the comics, he has the ability to mimic everything he sees, including fighting styles. This makes him a formidable opponent because he can essentially match the style of any hero and exploit it. His role in Black Widow is still a huge mystery, even the actor playing him hasn't been named. The trailer only gave a glimpse of him, but fans noted that he doesn't resemble his comic book counterpart.

Graphic artist BossLogic was quick to rectify this by posting an edited image of Taskmaster from the trailer. This time, the villain is in his proper comic book attire, including his hood and skull mask. Check out the image below:

Taskmaster's use of a bow and arrow is reminiscent of Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), who appears in the trailer in a flashback from The Avengers while Natasha is thinking about her family. Many fans have wondered if Renner would have a cameo in the movie, or if there would be some reference to Hawkeye. Taskmaster simply using a bow and arrow isn't automatically an allusion to Hawkeye, but perhaps the movie will acknowledge the similarities.

Since the trailer only provided a quick look at Taskmaster, there is a chance his comic costume could make an appearance. The film's current look of Taskmaster is more grounded in reality, giving the appearance of a standard black-ops soldier. With Natasha looking to take down the Red Room, it's likely Taskmaster is working with (if not running) the deadly organization. Natasha is one of the MCU's most skilled fighters, and it'll be interesting to see her go head-to-head with a person who can imitate her fighting style flawlessly. Maybe she and Yelena will take him on together? The trailer indicates that while Natasha and Yelena's reunion isn't the most friendly, they will be teaming up for a bit. Fans will have to wait for the second Black Widow trailer to learn more.
