Marvel Studios has released the latest trailer for Black Widow and it features its main villain, Taskmaster, copying a familiar Iron Man move. With just less than two months before MCU's Phase 4 opens with the Cate Shortland-directed, Scarlett Johansson-starring movie, marketing for the film is in full swing with the release of the final full sneak peek for the project.

Set between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War to navigate around the title character's tragic death in Avengers: Endgame, Black Widow will give fans an idea on what her life was before she joined Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Based on what's been shown in the trailers, Natasha is returning home to reconnect with her other family - David Harbour's Alexei Shoskatov/Red Guardian, Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova, and Rachel Weisz's Melina. And together, they fight the mysterious Taskmaster.

Not much is known about the MCU's version of the Marvel villain. As comic book readers know, Taskmaster's strength lies in his ability to mimic the abilities of his adversaries. This has been shown through Black Widow's marketing campaign, with Taskmaster copying various Avengers - at one point, he even perfectly mirrors Nat's move during their one-on-one fight. Aside from copying Natasha's actions, he also seems to  copy signature moves from other notable MCU heroes. We've seen him whip out his own bow and arrow, which is of course Clint Barton/Hawkeye's (Jeremy Renner) weapon of choice. He also handles his own shield the same way Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans) did. The new Black Widow trailer, however, shows him mimicking Iron Man.

Black Widow Taskmaster

Towards the end of the trailer, we see Black Widow and her family in the middle of an aerial battle scene - parts of which we've seen in previously released trailers, but was primarily focused on Natasha and her free-falling. The new trailer offers more footage this time with the reveal of what other key Black Widow characters such are doing during this bit, that includes Taskmaster who's apparently just behind Natasha during her sky dive. Prior to accelerating downward to chase her, a brief moment in the footage shows the villain seemingly flying with the same physical form as Iron Man has when he does so in his suit. Of course, Taskmaster doesn't have a powered costume like Iron Man, but the resemblance is uncanny, and suggests he's been studying him as well as other superheroes.

This makes sense given what we know about Taskmaster, but also Black Widow herself.Natasha's relationship with Tony Stark has oftentimes been overlooked. Focus was instead on her friendships with Clint or Steve. However, it's worth noting that the pair go all the way back to the events of Iron Man 2, which was Black Widow's debut film. There have been rumors that Downey's Iron Man will appear in Black Widow, but no official word as of yet.

Aside from Iron Man, the trailer also confirms previous rumors that Taskmaster will have T'Challa's Black Panther claws. This was brought about by a tie-in merchandise that reveals the said detail. Given all this, it's clear that Taskmaster is essentially copying a lot of Widow's allies. While it's unknown if he's faced any of them before, the latest Black Widow trailer shows him studying footage of Nat in action, which is likely how he's learned the other moves too. It's curious if there's any other prominent Avengers that Taskmaster will be copying in Black Widow. In any case, the villain's capability to mirror other fighting skills gives the film the opportunity to create some of the best fight sequences in the MCU.
