After multiple delays, Black Widow tickets are now officially on sale. Cate Shortland and Scarlett Johansson's Marvel Studios film was supposed to kick off MCU Phase 4 in May 2020. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the film had to be pushed back several times until it landed on a hybrid release format in theaters and on Disney+ this July, and it appears as if it's finally making its current rollout schedule.

Following her controversial death in Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Studios will properly close Nat's personal story through her long-delayed solo film. Set in the two years between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, the upcoming blockbuster will delve deep into the character's past in Russia before she became a SHIELD agent and eventually, an Avenger. With that, Black Widow will introduce a string of new characters into the MCU who factored in Nat's old life including her first family composed of Harbour's Alexei Shoskatov/Red Guardian, Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova, and Rachel Weisz's Melina. Specifics for their mission are still murky, but they will find themselves up against the mysterious Taskmaster.

Now that Disney and Marvel Studios are confident that people are keener on going back to theaters, tickets for Black Widow are officially available now and for pre-orders at Fandango. In celebration of this, a brand new promotional clip has also been debuted mainly featuring two separate action sequences, including Nat going up against Taskmaster. Watch the video below shared on Black Widow's official Twitter account:

As it is, the idea for the Black Widow standalone film has been deemed far too late, with the argument that it should've been a Phase 1 film. Couple that with the additional delays due to the global health crisis and there's concern that people may have fully lost appetite for the blockbuster, especially since Nat's already dead anyway. But, the way her death played out in Endgame is actually one of the primary reasons that many are looking forward to the Shortland-directed project as it could potentially justify the controversial creative decision to kill her in Vormir. Despite being set years before her demise, Black Widow could properly explain why her decision to sacrifice herself for the Soul Stone makes sense for the character arc, as tragic as it was.

Given the extended marketing period for Black Widow, Marvel Studios needs to be more crafty in terms of releasing any more footage for the movie. Scenes from this particular clip have been re-used multiple times, but since there's no context as to what's happening in them, it's still able to preserve the secrecy surrounding the project's narrative. In any case, with just several weeks more to go before it hits theaters and drops on Disney+, many might opt to skip these promos altogether and wait for the blockbuster instead.
