A new clip from Black Widow shows Red Guardian's Super Soldier powers on full display as he tries to escape a Russian prison with assistance from Natasha Romanoff and Yelena Belova. The highly-anticipated return to theaters for Marvel finally bows this Friday with an added bonus - Black Widow will be available on Disney+ for those who wish to enjoy the movie from the comfort of their own home. Despite this, Black Widow is projected to have a big box office debut thanks to the fact that Marvel hasn't released a movie in theaters in roughly two years. The last MCU movie to hit theaters was Spider-Man: Far From Home, a film that capped off Phase 3 of the franchise.

Black Widow will be going back into the MCU's past, exploring what Natasha was up to between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. With the Avengers broken apart and many of the world's mightiest heroes on the run, Natasha finds herself alone and seeks solace in figures from her past. This includes Florence Pugh's Yelena, as well as Rachel Weisz's Melina Vostokoff and David Harbour's Alexei Shostakov AKA Red Guardian. First, though, they must get Alexei out of prison and from the looks of it, it won't be an easy task.

Although Red Guardian has Super Soldier abilities, a new clip from Marvel shows that even he has difficulty breaking out of a maximum security Russian prison. In the clip, Yelena and Natasha hover above in a helicopter, guiding Alexei as he tries to get out. Unfortunately, not only does he have to contend with vicious guards, but it looks like he set off a riot as a diversion, something that isn't necessarily working out in his favor. The sequence in the clip has already been teased in several trailers and TV spots for Black Widow. From the looks of it, the outfit Natasha is wearing and the prison set indicate that, after the ending of this brief clip, Black Widow will have to join the fight to help Alexei out. A poster previewed this very moment, teasing Natasha nailing the perfect superhero landing before taking out some prison guards, but, naturally, Marvel has saved this moment for the actual film.

Still, the Black Widow clip gives a look at the frenetic action that early reviews for Black Widow have praised. While reactions towards the film's story and whether or not it gives Natasha her due have been mixed, one thing is clear: director Cate Shortland has nailed the action, a mix of John Wick style fighting and typical MCU bombast. Ultimately, it sounds like the perfect recipe for Marvel's return and the clip will only serve to hype up audiences further ahead of Black Widow's release this Friday.
