New character posters for Black Widow give detailed looks at the entire cast, including up close shots of both Taskmaster and Red Guardian. Natasha Romanoff is finally set to get her solo debut feature this summer after over a decade of appearing in other MCU films. Black Widow takes place in between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Endgame, with Natasha on the run after Marvel's heroes have been divided up into factions. When her past catches up to her, Natasha will have to join forces with her chosen family to take on Taskmaster, the person now in control of the Red Room.

Starring alongside Scarlett Johansson are David Harbour, Rachel Weisz, Florence Pugh, and O. T. Fagbenle, but the mystery remains as to who is behind Taskmaster's mask. Harbour, Weisz, and Pugh are all figures from Natasha's past that form a makeshift family. Wesiz and Pugh's characters, Melina Vostokoff and Yelena Belova, both trained in the Red Room, while Harbour's Alexei Shostakov, AKA Red Guardian, was Russia's answer to Captain America. Details have slowly trickled out about the film, but as Black Widow's release date approaches, Marvel is giving fans a closer look at the cast of characters.

With the same red and white palette as seen in other posters, Marvel has unveiled a new set of character posters highlighting the cast. Natasha, Yelena, and Melina all get their own, as does Fagbenle's Rick Mason. Taskmaster and Red Guardian are also featured, giving a close-up look at their detailed costumes in the film. Harbour is maskless in his poster for Red Guardian while Taskmaster is completely suited up, keeping his identity a secret. Check out the full posters below:

When Black Widow finally hits theaters and Disney+ this July, it will be the first Marvel film to be released in over two years. Spider-Man: Far From Home debuted on July 2, 2019, two years and a week before Natasha Romanoff's solo film. Worries that Black Widow could get stale by the time it was released have plagued the film, especially considering that it takes place prior to the world-breaking events of the climactic Avengers two-hander, Infinity War and Endgame.

Those fears have grown less prominent, though, as Black Widow's release date nears. Marvel has a unique way of threading stories throughout various films and this could ensure that Black Widow does, in fact, have an impact on the future of the MCU. This could come in many forms, but the most obvious seems to be with Pugh's character, Yelena Belova, as she may be taking on the mantle of the titular assassin. She is also rumored or confirmed to appear in a few more upcoming Marvel projects, including Hawkeye, so while Black Widow may be Natasha Romanoff's swan song, her legacy will live on.
