A superb fan poster has imagined Marvel's Black Widow movie in the style of John Wick: Chapter 2. After making her debut in Iron Man 2, as played by Scarlett Johansson, fans started campaigning for a Black Widow movie. There have been rumblings among those involved with Marvel Studios' massive franchise about a Black Widow film for years.

Last week, the super-spy's prospects of receiving a solo film set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe became better than ever before when Marvel hired Jac Schaeffer to work on a Black Widow movie script. It's still early days, of course, and reportedly Schaeffer is hoping to meet with Johansson to discuss the project in early February. Marvel fans are eager to see the film go ahead.

The Geek Keenan has decided to demonstrate his artistic skills by creating his own incredible fan-poster. In it, he's imagined the Black Widow movie in the style of John Wick. It's a stunning design, adapting one of the posters from The Avengers but simplifying it. The focus is clearly on Black Widow herself. At the same time, the colors have been changed in order to emphasize darkness and intrigue. That's proved to be a very smart move, casting Johansson's face in a severe light that bodes ill for her enemies. The Geek Keenan has imagined a simple logo, using a sharp and angular font with a bullet-hole in it. Everything about the image teases violence and danger. Take a look:

This is definitely a good approach for a Black Widow movie. Many fans believe the property is ideally suited to the R-rating that John Wick earned. After all, the super-spy is one of the darkest Marvel superheroes of them all. She started out as an assassin, and was picked up by S.H.I.E.L.D. when she was working as a mercenary. Natasha has made no secret of the fact she has "red in her ledger." If an unwise enemy pushed her in the wrong way, she'd be sure to come after them with brutal efficiency.

In April last year, Marvel dashed fans' hopes for R-rated movies. But the odds have just improved markedly since Disney is acquiring 20th Century Fox. The House of Mouse recognize that the R-rating was an important part of Deadpool's success, and are keen to continue that. As a result, Disney CEO Bob Iger is actually considering an R-rated Marvel banner. A Black Widow movie, in the style of John Wick, would certainly be a natural fit for this banner.

With any luck, The Geek Keenan's fan-poster will be just another nudge to tell Marvel this is a good idea. They keep a careful eye on the fans, and tremendous fan-posters like this surely give a sense of just what viewers want to see from the Black Widow movie.
