Here's why Black Widow could be more important to Avengers: Endgame than everyone thinks. Since making her debut in Iron Man 2, Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) has continued to become a bigger part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She was one of the original members of the Avengers, and will rejoin the lineup in Avengers: Endgame after spending a few years on the run.

Since she does not have any super powers, many have wondered just how prominent and significant of a role she could have in Avengers: Endgame. While she may not be the one who will deliver the fatal blow to Thanos, she will likely be involved in such an attempt. Beyond just a fight though, Black Widow could have an even more important role if any of these theories come to pass.

In the latest Screen Rant video, we take a look at a few different possible ways that Black Widow's role could dramatically impact Avengers: Endgame. There're a few possibilities in play that we'll discuss, such as multiple versions of her being involved. Check out all the theories by watching the video featured at the top of this post.

Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow in Avengers Endgame

One of these theories addresses a particular question that fans have had since the end of Captain Marvel and suggests Black Widow will be the one to find Nick Fury's pager. This may seem like a simple task at first, but it will ultimately be a very important one. If the Avengers never find the pager, then Captain Marvel would not meet them right when she returns to Earth. And since Captain Marvel and her great powers will play vital roles in Avengers: Endgame, Black Widow simply being the one to track down the pager would be one of the more important moments of the entire film.

Regardless of these theories, many fans are eager to find out if Black Widow will have a role in the MCU beyond Avengers: Endgame. Marvel Studios is gearing up for a Black Widow solo film, but it is not known when it will take place. It has been rumored that Black Widow will be a prequel movie exploring Natasha's origin and early days with S.H.I.E.L.D., but it could also be set in the present day if she survives Avengers: Endgame. These details will not be confirmed for some time, but the end of Phase 3 could show Marvel's plan depending on her fate. Either way, Avengers: Endgame won't be the last time we see Black Widow, and hopefully she will have an important role to play, even if none of these outcomes are responsible for it.
