The Marvel Cinematic Universe's latest finally gives Natasha Romanoff her own solo movie, but does Black Widow have a post-credits scene - and, if so, how many? Scarlett Johansson made her MCU debut more than a decade ago in 2010's Iron Man 2 as the Russian spy, and went on to become one of the original six members of Earth's Mightiest Heroes in The Avengers. The character's storyline came to an end with 2019's Avengers: Endgame, in which Black Widow died sacrificing herself so that Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) could acquire the Soul Stone and the Avengers could ultimately defeat Thanos.

For her solo film, Black Widow is set between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. At that point in her story, Natasha is on the run after violating the Sokovia Accords and helping Steve Rogers, but she hasn't quite joined up the Star-Spangled Man, as she is when she reappears in Infinity War. Black Widow sends Natasha on a mission that delves into her past and forces her to reunite with fellow Black Widows Yelena (Florence Pugh) and Melina (Rachel Weisz) in addition to Russia's Red Guardian (David Harbour). Even though Black Widow is set earlier in the MCU timeline, it's still the launchpad of Phase 4 films and has the opportunity to set up what's next.

Now that Black Widow is hitting theaters around the world, moviegoers may be wondering if the MCU film has any stingers during or after the credits. Black Widow has ONE post-credits scene, at the very end of the credits. While it's always worth watching the credits to see who helped make a film, Black Widow viewers should also expect a scene at the very end of the movie's runtime.

Scarlett Johansson walks as Natasha Romanoff in Black Widow

In terms of whether the Black Widow post-credits scene is worth sticking around for, it does pull double duty in terms of wrapping up Natasha's story while also actively setting up a future MCU project. In fact, because it features the further introduction of a new Phase 4 character, it also works to set up a longer-term story that's sure to have wide-reaching effects moving forward. While some of Marvel Studios' post-credits scenes have simply been jokes or unnecessary gags tacked onto the film, Black Widow makes good use of its one post-credits scene to set the stage for what's to come.

As for whether the scene gives Natasha a satisfying sendoff, that'll be up to the viewers to decide. For some, it will be a nice bridge between the Black Widow movie and the future of the franchise, while others may still be unhappy with the character's handling, especially in regards to her death in Endgame. Still, Black Widow finally gives Johansson's superhero the solo film she's deserved since the early days of the MCU, and it plays a key part in setting up Phase 4 moving forward. So those who enjoyed Natasha Romanoff as a character and are looking ahead to future MCU projects should stick around for the Black Widow post-credits scene.
