A pair of creative Black Panther fans went viral after trying a classic trick to get into a screening of the newest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. The Ryan Coogler-directed Black Panther is, by all measures, a towering achievement for Disney and Marvel Studios - especially at the box office. Regardless of how people are trying to get into the theaters, fans are packing the seats to see Black Panther. To the tune of a record-breaking opening weekend.

And that's not just because the movie has Marvel attached to its name. With the help of an engaging, distinctive story and several standout performances among its cast, Coogler has crafted one of the most acclaimed Marvel movies - one that, in some ways, transcends the superhero genre altogether. Ask Kevin Feige and it's the best MCU entry yet. So the movie should have no problem continuing to sell tickets - even if fans keep doing what this fearless duo tried to do.

A theatergoer known as "Pillsbury" on Twitter (with the handle @SteveLikesCups) posted a hilarious video of himself and a buddy trying to get a "two for one special" to get into a screening of Black Panther using the old "two people hiding underneath a trench coat" trick. They did not, in fact, get into the screening with just one ticket. But as you can see below, it wasn't for lack of trying - the two fans documented their entire process through what appears to be an Instagram or Snapchat story. Also, it's unclear how the manager was able to uncover their disguise; perhaps the bottom kid sneezed. Check out the kids' valiant effort below:

The trick has long been an extremely common character trope, especially in animation. Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is perhaps the most famous example. It was also a common tactic in the Little Rascals TV show and was used as recently as The Boss Baby. If you grew up on cartoons, you've likely seen this trick countless times. It's just not terribly common to see it attempted in real life.

Clearly, these two fans picked up on the technique over the years and, at the very least, thought they'd have a funny video on their hands. The clip has gone viral since being posted on Friday, amassing over eight million views and 160,000 retweets as of Sunday afternoon. It will be interesting to see if these two fans inspire others to try other kinds of zany methods to save money on their Black Panther tickets.

Still, even if theaters somehow fell for this conspicuous "disguise", it wouldn't do much to hurt Black Panther's massive early performance at the box office. It has a chance to break the four-day record set by The Avengers in 2012 and has already set other records of its own. And it's just the first weekend for a movie that stands tall as perhaps the MCU's greatest triumph.
