The Black Panther is finally declaring war on Ulysses Klaw in his new Marvel Comic. At present, the hero may be at the top of Marvel's movie box office in the Black Panther movie, and even preparing to head into space when the Black Panther comic relaunches the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda. But in the world of Marvel Comics where T'Challa's stories are born, he's finally reaching the end of a strange, personal trial. And at the end of it rests open combat with Ulysses Klaw - as most fans would have predicted.

In our exclusive preview of Black Panther #171, T'Challa has moved beyond his battle with the Originators (the first inhabitants of Wakanda, returned through mysticism and portals) and is looking to shift to the offensive. That begins by finally getting the jump on his enemies, and with the Dora Milaje getting upgraded 'Midnight Angel' armor, this showdown is going to be a memorable one.

The opening pages of Black Panther #171 pick up shortly after the shocking conclusion of Issue #170. After seeking out his friend Asira and trying to fight back the forces of the evil 'Ras the Exhorter,' T'Challa and his allies discovered that the two were one and the same. As that mystery is solved by Okoye of the Dora Milaje on a dream level, T'Challa is hatching his final attack plan with an unlikely ally (a satisfying supporting role for former supervillain Thunderball). Obviously, it begins like all the best attack plans in the Marvel Universe: planting a hard left across the face of his smarmiest opponent.

Take a look at the preview pages below:

The outright explosion of hostilities between T'Challa and his upgraded Dora Milaje forces has been a long time coming. Until now, Klaw and his cadre of villainous geniuses have been operating in the shadows - seeking to distract the King of Wakanda instead of confronting him. So it's with no small amount of satisfaction that T'Challa finally gets to put his fists to these nuisances in person. How the rest of the battle goes... that remains to be seen! It's also unclear how Klaw and T'Challa will end this encounter, since the villain's motivations have largely been centered on restoring his sister (not exactly the kind of villainy Black Panther fans would expect).

The synopsis for the next issue promises Klaw's secret weapon is "a powerful Marvel foe not seen in years," but Black Panther has a trick up his sleeve, too: his Ex-Wife.
