Black Panther star Letitia Wright reveals what is her favorite piece of technology that her character, Shuri, creates in the film. After his introduction in last year's Captain America: Civil War, Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa is set to headline an exploration into an entirely new culture and world within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Black Panther. Not only will Black Panther finally give fans their first look at the secretive nation of Wakanda - a reveal comic book readers have been waiting years for - but the film will also introduce new characters and political factions residing within Wakanda, who may have considerable impacts in the MCU moving forward.

That includes the film's villains like Andy Serkis' Ulysses Klaue, Michael B. Jordan's Erik Killmonger, Winston Duke's M'Baku and the Dora Milaje/Secret Service to the King of Wakanda, led by Lupita Nyong'o's Nakia and Danai Gurira's Okoye. But in addition to all of those characters, Black Panther will also be introducing yet another tech genius into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in T'Challa's sister, Princess Shuri, played by Letitia Wright.

During an interview with Screen Rant at last week's San Diego Comic-Con, Wright talked about and teased what are some of Shur's more notable inventions that fans should keep an eye out for when Black Panther hits theaters:

"My favorite tech so far has been the gauntlets because obviously, that is my baby. That is my protection and I made them, so that’s been my favorite so far. And there is more in store. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. When you watch the film in February, on the 16th of February 2018, you are going to be pleasantly surprised at what Shuri adds to the technology world and also to the armor of protection for her brother and her people. So I am excited for you to see that."

As anyone familiar with the Black Panther lore and comic books is already aware, technology plays a huge role in the life and culture of Wakanda - something that the first teaser trailer for Black Panther highlighted well. And while Shuri's familiarity with vibranium and its uses may only put her in the firing line of Andy Serkis' Ulysses Klaue as well, it will be interesting to see how her inventions and constant tinkering may play into the plot of the film.

So while not much is known as of yet regarding what Shuri's overall role will be in Black Panther's story, she's quickly emerged as one of the more exciting supporting players for fans to keep an eye on in the film. Said to be a genius inventor on the level with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), it's already looking like Shuri's inventions will have noticeable impacts on the further evolution of T'Challa as both a king and perhaps even more noticeably, his Black Panther costume. And her emotional connection to T'Challa following their father's death in Civil War could very well prove to be one of the more emotional subplots of the film.
